The calm before the storm

Sorry, no guitar names. He's named after my grandfather, Joseph with a nod to Joey from Friends. It kind of keeps up with the "J" theme that we started when we named our first son Justin. BTW, we just picked that name from a list but now that he's 3 he's become his own person and it fits.

The coffee shop computer I'm using is denying me access to page one of this thread, says there's a "banned phrase" on it.

What happened? Kwak have a baby?

Someone said coffee sucks on the first page. ;)

Mrs. Kwak hatched an egg.

There is a new baby Kwak boy.

Well, the storm has passed - Mrs. Kwak gave birth early yesterday morning to a baby boy. I could gush on and on over the details but that would bore you guys and I need to get back to the hospital once I put my visiting mother and 3 year-old son to bed.

So who's the next HCAG papa?
;)

Congrats! I'm really happy for you! I should have lil' Bigby #2 coming in late July... :D

Holy {censored}e! Congrats, Kwak!

Now, what is all this about the clams before the storm? I've been through many storms, and there are never clams. Is the government supposed to be supplying me with clams when a storm is expected? This doesn't seem very practical, as clams do not keep very long. Am I supposed to eat clams before a storm? What possible good might that do? Am I supposed to eat a particular type of clam? Can't figure what difference that would make, either. Just what in the hell is everyone talking about?

The chances of winning may be significantly better than buying a state lottery ticket, but the chances of anyone naming their baby "Queequeg" are significnatly less. :D :D

Neil,

Congrats! Hope everyone in the family is doing well!

Congrats Kenadyan! It'll be baby #2 for us as well; hopefully find out the sex at our doctor's appointment next week.

Have any of you with kids coming due also experiencing a sense of urgency in your recent playing; knowing that free time is about to become even more limited?

Hehe - thanks fellas (and ladies if there happen to be any present)

No pics yet. He got bruised up during delivery and now he's got jaundice so he won't be home for a couple more days.

No talk of new guitars either. It's way too early.

Breaking News......................................

HCAG SPRING BABY CONTEST

I have a full set of never-been-used (count 'em- all six strings) PB Mediums for the first HCAG guy to name their Spring 2007 newborn "Queequeg".

I know, I know what you're thinking: this is too good to be true.

I assure you my fellow forumites. I give you my word of honor, this offer is as good as gold.

In the event of multiple namesakes, time of birth as documented on the official birth certificate will serve as best evidence. Judge's decision is final.

Subsequent Queequeg namesakes shall receive a runner-up polypropolene plectrum.

Let the contractions begin!

Shipping, handling & insurance included.

For your individual tax implications, please contact your accountant.

Your chances of winning are significantly better than buying your state's lotto tickets.

I officially have a garage full of brand new kittens. The first one has been labeled Queequeg. Unfortunately, I have no birth certificate though.

why do I have this sneaking suspicion that your new kitty will be the winner, RT1?

That's alright. And a fine cat he will be, too. A great hunter, I should think.

Congratulations to you sir. I can only imagine your pride.

PM me where to ship your prize.

Your gift will be gently taken from the shelf with

sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees shall inspect it and polish it to make sure

it is in the best possible condition before mailing.

Our packing specialist from Tibet will light a candle as a hush falls over

the crowd when he puts your gift into the finest gold-lined box that money

can buy.

We'll all have a wonderful celebration afterwards as the whole party

marches down the street to the post office where the entire town of

Ann Arbor waves 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, on its way to you, in

my private jet.

Your avatar is on the wall here as 'Man of the Year'.

Thanks for all the celebration Queg. I do appreciate it. Just hang onto the strings though. I might need a new set eventually. Remember, I use Elixirs and they last a lifetime.

RT1:lol:

Not to mention they keep sending you free Elixirs in the mail. ;)
