The code is supposed to apply Only for blem items, but it applies for everything, whatever, no exclusions (that I know of) So, If you been waiting for a sale... get whatever it is NOW, before they fix the issue!!! I said "somewhat" because the item I ordered was cheap and relatively unpopular. It's being liquidated at one small independent B&M at an unadvertised price that's just $3 over what I got it from M123 with that coupon. So, in essence, I got it without having to dicker about price-matching versus a B&M (some of you may have heard that quote "Well I can't price-match unless you can fax me an advertised price"). The big question is whether others are also receiving confirmations on popular big-brand items. Mine was probably something they wanted to get out of their inventory. Either email everyone who used the discount on a non-blem item and say "sorry, it was a temporary website error, this discount doesn't apply on non-blem items" or you eat it and give it to everybody who used it. Selectively applying the discount only to those products that help you out from a profit/inventory standpoint seems questionable. So, anyone else wondering whether this was really a system error or a case of viral marketing (as peachcowboy suggested)? I have a general sense of what the margins are on instruments because one store manager is rather open with me. 40% off list is fair and profitable. He's typically sold me items at 45%-50% off list without my asking. If I ask the right person at my local GC, I can get 45% off list (the junior sales reps usually don't give you more than 35%-40% with dickering). 25% off the discounted price isn't that far from what MF gave some of us with the 20%-discounted gift-cards and the rebate deals that followed seven days later.
