Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted September 19, 2007 Moderators Share Posted September 19, 2007 A little peak at summat that Jay will be offering soon:thu: I reckon these will help people get over the demise of the 51 2 New Basic models debuting this week- XV-650 and XV-600. 650 Double cutaway, 600 single. Both are built like a cross between a vintage Danelectro and a Gibson ES-335. Solid Poplar core- Body is NOT a hollowed out chunk of basswood like all the other semi hollows out there- It's a laminated Maple rim with laminated maple top and back- like a 335. The result is a stiff, lightweight guitar that is acoustically VERY loud yet very resistant to feedback. Stock pickups are a calibrated pair of FULL RETAIL Dream 180's in chrome, GFS Alnico P90 Soapbars also available- Maple or rosewood necks- Prices start at $159- Add a custom built hardshell case for only $39. Members Guitarfetish
Holy {censored} you guys are fast- Hope to have them up with preliminary photos by Friday- then a more elaborate html page for each item by next week. Some very well done metalflakes, some cool vintage colors- all in rosewood or maple. Also sparkle XV700's by week's end. New Lp shaped guitars including a quilt top semi hollow with GFS pickups should be in stock by mid November as well. Not trying to offer every possible body style- just trying to get a few basic platforms and "Modding" them prior to sale- the basics- Good pickups, Full sized ALPHA pots, ALPHA lever action toggle rather than the box switch that's on all the epis- medium jumbo frets levelled and dressed, steel bridge with steel saddles, string through- stuff you usually don't get in the lower price ranges. Members Guitarfetish
How about a hollow body rockabilly axe? Yeah we're trying to get something going now- Just a drag cause Bigsby is making a lot of problems for the non branded trem makers- Even adding the Chinese made Bigsby branded trem adds a lot to the cost- But I'd love to do something with a pair of our NY III's on it- Should sound better than most of the new $2K+ Gretsches... Nothing before 2008 unfortunately- We're not looking to have the most reasonably priced guitars- just (hopefully) the best.
