  1. Sounds good but it’s a long drive. Even with the difference in time zones I won’t be able to make it maybe next year
  2. Having dinner at the local Chinese buffet then heading home. I’ll warm up the amp and play for an audience of one.
  3. Hard at work stopping guitars while fentanyl floods our country. Talk about messed up
  4. Thanks but I’ve never even tried Spotify. or I would support the community
  5. Actually it is very comfortable to play. This one doesn’t have the rhythm circuit like Fender uses but for what I do it’s just fine . I really like the pickups, especially with some reverb.
  6. Ouch ! not good news at all I hope you can get some kind of warranty/return
  7. Actually I forgot exactly what I ordered. It’s a different style of Jazzmaster/ Jag rocking bridge .
  8. I must say I love those pickups. The bridge not so much but a Mustang bridge is on the way as suggested by daddymack
  9. While the strings were off I did force a small socket over the grip end to tighten it, seems to be gripping okay but rattled at the top . Laugh if you want but a piece of scotch tape stopped the rattle at least for now .
  10. Probably a well placed piece of scotch tape would be enough.. If I ever get time to try it
  11. The lever is already prone to swing , graphite would make it even worse
  12. I did an image search for “Kay Bolt On Neck”.this showed up for ebay. The items are gone but at least you can see it these are available on reverb for $29
  13. Yes , it just presses into a socket. The bottom some what holds it but the top is just slightly loose.
  14. Unfortunately mine has no lock. The trem itself is smooth but the lever just is what it is, prone to rattle
  15. Wish that I knew you were searching for it I saved it to my favorites about a week ago knowing that I would be setting one up soon. Good tech article
  16. I never had the desire to name a guitar. Except for this one, I refer to as my ‘64 Merc Marauder
  17. That is a very surfy looking guitar and now that you got it sorted out would be fun This Jazzmaster clone was playable when it arrived, after tuning of course. I didn’t realize how for off it was until I started to set it up. Basically everything was off except the intonation. I did remove the trem and tightened up the slotted nut type piece that holds the trem arm. I did this by finding a small socket that was a snug fit and pushing over the slotted end to tighten in up because it had a rattle. daddymack suggested a Mustang bridge and that may happen if it gives me problems. you mentioned reverb and tremolo Tremolo is probably the coolest effect that I seldom use. I may just have dig it out .
  18. Welcome back Scott. Things have mellowed out here. We all love guitars so jump right in
  19. Well there were conditions applied we are just finishing up staining and sealing some wood work in the backyard and I’m also installing some lights. It’s the kind of asking that only has one answer, “I’ll be glad to “
  20. You were right about using 10’s . I’ve had a sample set of the XS coated strings D’Addario sent me in the toolbox. This guitar is tricky to setup so I wanted some long life strings. I like the feel of them and they sound great on this one. The pickups were a pain to adjust so probably I will be discouraged from constantly tweaking them and just focus on playing. Once I’m satisfied that everything is just right I’ll go back and use a little loc tote on the saddle screws. I may even use slightly shorter screws
  21. In the late 50’s this was space age styling
  22. Like I said , I don’t know anything about them so I got an inexpensive one to try it out. The trem is really a simple design . Does the screw adjust the spring tension?
  23. I never had a Jazzmaster in my hands before so this is all new to me. I did play a Jaguar once but just didn’t like the short scale.,this one is 25.5” It’s bright sounding with the 9’s it came with, I was even thinking about pure nickel 11’s maybe the 10’s will be enough.. As for the trem .here’s a pic maybe you can tell me what it is . This is the only guitar I’ve had with P 90’s so it’s hard to rate them but the reviews seem good. I keep buying telecasters so this time I wanted something different. Of course I already have a Strat that rarely gets played so time will tell if I bond with it
  24. Reminds me of a song by Ambrosia “I keep Holding On”
