Members clund Posted March 2, 2009 Members Share Posted March 2, 2009 So I got a nice size tax return this year... and I figured I would try to stimulate the economy by purchasing a new guitar. So I went shopping... Ended up getting a pretty good deal on this baby Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop V.O.S. 1960 Plain Top - Dark Burst Let me just say that I love the look of the Les Paul... but I have played a TON of them and just never liked the feel of the necks... Always thought the frets were a bit too big and chunky, and had issues with the upper fret access. But I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!! Still doesn't have great upper neck access, but this thing plays like a dream!!! The smaller but still substantial 60's Neck is WONDERFUL! The frets are well dressed (Pleked) and this thing has some weight to it (have not weighed it, but it seems to be about 9lbs or so maybe a bit more). The sustain is amazing and the Burstbucker 1 & 2 Pickups are Wonderful! I couldn't be happier! Well, I guess I could be if it were a bit cheaper! I hope you're able to enjoy that guitar for many years to come! I also spent my tax refund on a Gibson Les Paul........ and a Marshall amp.
