Members Chad
This description is overhyped to the point of being RIDICULOUS. So over the top that it just makes the seller seem like a creep. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130607332033

Members Dr. Scottie C
Take the asking price, divide it by 10, and I still wouldn't pay it. Nice description though.
Members Angry Tele
really the only mistake he made (besides evoking images of fingering virgin girls and jesus shroud) was to admit he never played the guitar. Hes too honest to a fault. It totally undermines the entire description. He should have left that part out, because he goes on to say it has great playability. He just come soff as a collector not a player, and to me someone that gets so much joy out of just looking at a guitar is just weird. Its abnormal to not want to play a brand new guitar. Members BigTimeFun
I remember a dealer in San Diego having a whole wall of the gold Centennial models; they were too expensive new, and they certainly aren't worth 5k used.

Yeah, this guitar was the inspiration that lead to the "Ebay phrases" thread.
Members Cobalt Blue
How about this one from about a month or so ago? I actually felt the guitar was interesting because of its being Stealth, but I had a difficult time deciding what was more offensive: the guitar being capable of "Nazi Fusion Madness" or the manufactured folklore meant to manipulate one's patriotism and sympathy--that the seller was listing the guitar for the family whose son had "played the hell" out of the guitar before having been killed in Afghanistan. Here's one of the images and the text from that listing: Fender

Members Chad
type... flying V???? I reckon the seller got so caught up in the drama of writing the description that he forgot small things like categorizing the guitar correctly. Members EvilMinstrel
The most offensive thing for me is his incessant referencing to the guitar as "she" and "her." That always bugs the {censored} out of me.
Members Fiveway
So, there's a notion that people will find an object more valuable if there's some kind of narrative that provides meaning for that object. Which means that telling a story about what you're selling on ebay can get you more for it. Whether this guy knows that or is just effluviate is up for debate. Members bsman
I find that guitar fugly in the extreme. To me, the excess application of gold lacquer and plated hardware screams kitschy, classless and CHEAP rather than SPECIAL. It just plain looks out of place and stupid. Yeah, but opening the case is "like jumping out of an airplane"! Doesn't that make you still want to buy it?
