have you check the date of the manufacture on the pots...?


that's how i was able to nail down my '73...

nope, i need to check it.


i contacted gibson customer support via email years ago. and they told me all les paul custom's produced 1974 have the 20th anniversary inlay, if it doesn't it is no '74..

beside that, ok if the pots are '74 it could also mean they used "older" stock pots in 1975 until their stock was emptied and they ordered new '75 produced ones...


like some fender necks predate the production of the whole guitar for a year or more
