what parts should i change on my les paul?

For some reason I thought your Paul was a sunburst or some brownish color. Since it's white, gold pinstriping might look cool.

The plastic jack plate could have a negative effect on the tone of the guitar if it breaks - which is not as likely to happen with a metal jack plate.

No, I bought it already, on ebay. too late. I will have to replace the metal jackplate to the plastic one. I think my les paul will sound better with the plastic jackplate.

I was thinking of changing the knobs next. should I get the genuine Gibson knobs which are the most expensive, the allparts knobs which is cheaper by about 25 dollars, or the cheapest ones I can get locally which are just less than 10 dollars?

Make sure you get knobs that fit the pots.
