Chaka, Zombies,Steppenwolf, and Yes are the nominees I'm interested in with Yes being #1 due to the (imo) massive contribution of all members (at least of the classic lineup) to the whole product rather than one or two members steering the art.

 

Dunno why, but I figured the Zombies were already in.

Hmmmm. I go a lot by how much they have influenced music, so if we are taking a rather loose view of rock as they are but going who has been particularly influential, I suppose I might choose:

 

Bad Brains

ELO

Chic

Kraftwerk

MC5

Steppenwolf

Cars

 

Maybe throw Yes in there, but the first seven are what leapt to mind initially.

I'm only voting for the ones who don't deserve it.

It's tough decision I know. But I endorse it.

The only alternative for me is to write in Jan Wenner's name 19 times.

 

I also recommend a purge going back. Delete Elvis - insert Jan Wenner.

Carl Perkins? nope - Jan Wenner. Jerry lee Lewis? Joni Mitchell? delete

insert Jan Wenner every time. I heard Steely Dan got in somehow? That's a 2'fer.Delete insert Jan Wenner.

 

After he's the only winner in that bunch. (Sorry he's a Wenner). Close enough anyway. It will take a year or two. But we can get it right eventually. THE ROCK AND ROLLL HALL OF FAME FEATURING JAN WENNER.

 

After the purge, we can have a conversation about which direction we can take THE ROCK HALL OF FAME FEATURING JAN WENNER should go.

 

Rock is losing listeners and buyers. We don't want Jan Wenner to be tied to a sinking ship. The whole point of this is how utterly important Jan Wenner is to every living creature on earth. Let's not lose sight of that.
