Members amarr1
ok so i've thought about this.ac30 if i have a tele. and a timmy.bassman with something with humbuckers. i really want to get a 4x12 for the bassman. that would be awesome.they are both very chimey. I think the bassman is probably more versatile. for instance i hate the ac30 with my sheraton.and you have to put the amp on the treble switch with my rickenbacker for it to sound good. just to dark and muddy. If i had to choose one. well thats hard. Ac30 for portability. i agree. with what you're saying.

Members matterday
You're the first person I've heard that doesn't like the '59. Even the br00tz heads loved my '59.
Members mrweems
i mean its a nice amp. i recorded about 80% of my parts on the last EP we did with one. I just don't care for it. I don't like 10's at all. My bassman through my twins speakers is {censored}ing epic. Mayo + bassman is even more epic. sounds like a wall of {censored}ing noise thats pure bliss. I want a cab loaded with v30's for it.

Members mrweems
exactly like that. needing a cab thats 4 ohms is annoying. so thats another - to the ac30 vs bassman battle. i imagine my princeton is 4ohms as well.
Members Meriphew
Both are great amps. You could always get a Mesa Blue Angel head and pair it with Celestion Blues, then you'll have a hybrid of both.

Members ben_allison
all i have to say is. BOTH. Unless this has been modded to Tweed specs, it doesn't count. :poke: Actually, I had a 66 and miss it. I wish I had hung on to it, though, I'd have modded it to AA864 specs, and then made the Bass channel a Tweed/Plexi. Yours looks like it's in immaculate shape! Very naice! You will damage the amp only if you go to a lower impedance than the amp recommends. You can safely go to a higher impedance if you don't mind loosing a little bit of volume. Members thirsty one
Run them both in Stereo! The AC30 slightly overdriven and the Bassman on the verge of overdrive.
Members mrweems
I ran the bassman through my Dr z 2x12. And then i ran it through my Twins speakers. huge difference. with the extenstion cab there was gain, volume, and chime loss.in the twin cab it was pristine cleans + a huge increase in volume
