Members Van_Muddlestein
I like to have a strap that is specific to each guitar I have. I care a lot about how it looks and how it feels. I try to make it work with both my style and the vibe/style that I think the guitar gives off. I think a strap is an important purchase. Members majafa
I have a separate strap for all my guitars. Most of them are the standard cheap ernie ball type straps. When I got my tele it came with a strap...the thin leather with wider shoulder pad old school style. I tried it and really liked it, but quickly it started cracking near the end, so I looked for a strap in that same style. Ended up finding a brand called Cornhusker Guitar Straps, and got one. Thick leather, nicely padded. Don't even need straplocks because the strap fits on the guitar so tight. I don't have a photo because my guitar isn't here right now, but this is from their website:

Members WeStartToDrift
As long as they don't break, I could care less. I think I have a Levi's Canvas strap and the rest are Ernie Balls. None have broken, none need replacing.

Members Y0UNGBL00D
i have a couch seatbelt style, but its slippery, so i dont use it mainly. my SG has a black leather 2", forget the brand, but it has a nice friction that keeps my guitar where i want it when i want it there, but allows it to move when i tell it too, which is a lot. Members Lou Speed
When I got my first guitar many years ago I got some cheap nylon or whatever strap. A few years later I got a bass and got another. I'm still using them. Those flowery Couch ones look cool though.

Members nitrous2400
I will only use Couch now, I used to never care about straps and had bought a few with plastic slack adjusters, eventually they failed from weight/strain, which lead to me nearly dropping a guitar...so I learned my lesson very quickly. Couch straps are made by people who actually care about what they're doing, it's made with quality vinyl/seat belt material, metal slack adjusters and stainless steel rivets. I've had my couch straps for a few years now with zero problems, I even have a couch wallet for a few years now and it's held up better than any other wallet I've had considering I beat the hell out of everything. My wallets have never made it past a year, the couch is going on 3years without a break.
