Okay spending some time with this pedal today.

First A-1 job on the graphics RENULA, looks really nice!

Second, I never played a rat other than digital simulations on an rp355. I like it, I like it a lot.

Third, this morning I recorded a terrible demo, and posted it for you to laugh at.

Also, since recording this three hours ago, I've been playing it more. {censored}, I want a rat now...

I like this one I haven't got a clue how it stacks up to the real deal, nor does that matter. I like this pedal.

{censored}ing sucks to be a broke ass chump. anyway, this ROUS and a Pixel Fix from shoe will be mine when my ship comes ashore.

Christmas time is coming up. Don't forget that I accept chocolates as partial payment from you. Or, if you'd prefer, I can send you money for chocolates, and then you send it right back to me for a pedal. icon_lol.gif

Demo sounds awesome, man! Great job. thumb.gif

Got it today.

Initial impressions: Sounds really nice. Can do that nice ratty overdrive, all the way up to crazy fuzziness. There's not just heaps of output volume, but enough for a nice boost. Sparkly paint and blue graphics look sweet.

I'll post a clip or two in the next couple days.

I reckon I'll ship it out Tuesday as I really wanna bring it to a buddy's house who's kind of a Rat aficionado.

Fantastic! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the pedal. Any luck on getting it to your buddy's house yet to see how it compares to his Rats? Also, if you're looking for more output volume, try maxing out the bass and treble knobs. They're passive filters, so when you turn them all the way up, that should be your full signal. Hope that helps!

Don't be a peen, that was a fine demo. I appreciated it.

That sounded like a really nice RAT. I want.

But seriously, is it still possible to get on this list? big_cat lives in/close to my hood, so that'd be an easy transition right there, and I can look for some goodies around the house to add in with the care package for the next recipient.

Sure thing. Just PM me with your info (name, address, e-mail, and phone number) and I'll throw you on the list. thumb.gif

Ah ha, yeah, I do like it most with the bass and treble maxed. Good tip.

The plan is to go over to his place tomorrow. I think I'll record him playing it too. He's kind of a rockabilly guy so it should make for a fun demo. He doesn't use Rats anymore, but he used to. If you've ever heard of the punk band Sloppy Seconds, he was their original guitarist (on Destroyed and Knock Yer Block Off) and used to use pretty much rats through twins exclusively. This was back in the 80s and he only ever used original Rats, he's had a couple clones but didn't like em so if he likes it, it's gotta be good right?

I mean I think it's cool sounding but don't know much about rats, so yeah. My input in that regard it not super valuable. It is a neat pedal though, really versatile, and both modes sound good. I also really like that the two modes are really really different. I hate when there's a toggle on a pedal that makes almost no difference in tone.

I thought I posted this, but I don't see it idn_smilie.gif

You should build a polychorus clone, just wild analog chip modulation pushed too far with feedback and delay time controls...

and call it "the Shrieking Eels"

I'll take mine gratis for the awesome name and idea... get to it mad.gif

So, how did Rat Fest '12 go? Did your buddy say anything about how this compared to his beloved Rats? I'm hopeful for good things! Also, I'll pm you hangwire's info in a minute. Hope you've enjoyed your time with the pedal, and hangwire, I had my heart set on a phaser next, but Shrieking Eels is definitely a cool name. haha

Hey, yeah I brought it over. He said it was a good pedal, and it sounded a lot like his old Rats, but it made him remember why he didn't use them anymore. Heh, so there ya go. He's more of a Tele > Cranked 59 Bassman RI guy these days. idn_smilie.gif

Either way, I took a little demo at my place. I always clam up when recording demos, I never know what to play... I should make a little set list when I do this.

All in all though, I think it's a great pedal. My only actual criticism is I think the bass/treble controls need tweaking. I feel like all the best tones come when those knobs are all the way up. But, the tones then are great I think. It's quite versatile as well. Goes from just loud ass slightly gritty clean to a wall of fuzz. thumb.gif

Again, sorry for the playing. I always muck up demos, but the tone is there.

I'll be mailing this out to hangwire in a couple hours.

blake - fyi - these guys before me have not been gentle lovers... pots feel different when turning, a nice ding in the face, and post office has given the phrase "beat up box" a solid porn gangbang of decomposition analogy.

2 things:

what do you guys want to hear in a demo that hasnt been done

and blake is it ok if I use a new box for the last leg of the tour? I think i have a box that might be smaller, but definitely thicker sided saved in the old closet.

ps- phaser wise, make sure 4 stage phasing is an option, and maybe different waveforms. if you want the shriek in there, get that feedback/resonce control to have too much range... will do a modulated feedback cycle if tweaked...
