Members Sheik_Yerbouti
Seriously? Eddie Van Halen! Yeah, I know ... he was EVERYBODY's idol, cept mine. I heard their demo in late 77, and was unimpressed. Then the album came out and it still didn't catch my ears. I never knew what all the fuss was about? You're dead to me. Members Extasyguy
There are many but if I had to narrow it down to one it has to be Petrucci by far.
Members Shask
Honestly I cant listen to any of the instrumental shredders. {censored} bores me to death. Id rather listen to 1 note chugged over and over in Drop Q with a growler over it Funny enough, I do like Petrucci. I think it is because Dream Theater is a band though, and it is not all instrumental. They are songs and not shredfests... well, at least the earlier stuff... Members theAntihero
Beautifully played but still comes off sort of flat IMO. Funny that he apparently cant do vibrato with out a whammy though.

Members Terminus
Another vote for most shredders out there. Their skill and technique may be amazing, but their music just doesn't appeal to me.
Members Marshalldsl50
At one point he went to a clean tone and pulled off AUTHENTIC bebop chord melody stuff. The guy was a session guitarist that used to do jingles for taco bell, pizza hut and coca cola. He, he then he totally needs to get a double neck jazz guitar as well... ......and matching smoke machine....!!!!!!!!Yes his playing is totally AMAZING, for me it might be the Bigger, Better, Faster, more guitar necks thing a bit too far at this point. Members wok
Most white blooz players. Some of them may be monster players, but the music and endless pentatonics bore me to tears
Members ComOp
rusty cooley should be at the top of everyones list Everytime I hear Rusty playing it's like hearing video game music. It doesn't even sound like a human playing an instrument.

Members Sheik_Yerbouti
The guys in Meshuggah would be way up there for me as well. Great players, and I've tried to get into them, but that godawful tone and soulless lack of groove lasts maybe a couple of songs for me before I'm ready to shoot my ipod.
