Pretty much any guy that plays a dumble. Not that the amp is bad, I like the sound. It's just that it's geared towards the light jazz, bluzak crowd. Don't get me wrong, those guys can play, but what they choose to play just sounds lifeless and boring to me. Then again, I grew up listening to "Ferrari's" and those guys are closer to "Cadillac's". Perhaps when I grow up I'll get it, until then I'll keep practicing new techniques.

Everytime I think you might prove me wrong about being bland and terrible you post another comment like this that makes me reaffirm you as the terrible poster that you are.

once again your repeating yourself, at least your not stealing other peoples putdowns this time. you seem to be suffering from cataphasia, which may be hiding other mental illness.

merry christmas

Seriously?

Eddie Van Halen!

Yeah, I know ... he was EVERYBODY's idol, cept mine. I heard their demo in late 77, and was unimpressed. Then the album came out and it still didn't catch my ears. I never knew what all the fuss was about?
:idk:

I will have to agree with you....I have to give him credit because he is a great player and he came up with a very unique sound....that being said I got to see him live a few years ago and I wasn't really impressed with him....

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but Stevie Ray Vaughn is my vote.

How many times can you play 'that' lick??? Come on! I think all the adoration and emulation of his style has actually held back the blues for a long time. Too many Stevie Ray Vaughn-a-bees spending too much time mastering his tone and borrowed licks instead of pushing the boundaries.

Ditto on all the soul-less shredders.

Hate Yngwie. Respect his talent, his music puts me to sleep and his personality makes me want to punch him in the face.

Love Petrucci, Gilbert, and Satch.

This, except that Satriani has to go on my list also. The guy's music just does nothing for me. I like some very "shreddy" players (Messrs. Petrucci and Vai, chiefly), but I just don't enjoy A) music that's essentially a backing track with noodling on top (which is what most of Satriani's music is, IMO), and B) listening to people playing exercises and routines that they have spent hours honing with a metronome. I do that stuff because I have poor coordination and don't find technical playing easy but keep it out of your music, please. :thu:

Others would include:

Rusty Cooley

Michael Romeo (although his stupendously awful tone might have something to do with it)

And, heresy of all heresies, Eddie Van Halen. And I didn't want to be disappointed, either. I heard Eruption and thought it was amazing. I still do. I then had a listen to a few live 'Eruptions' however, and was underwhelmed in the extreme at the eratic, sloppy mess that they all were. It's like a completely different guy is playing in some of them.
