Apart from the pale ale comment I will add, even though yes the British empire (not just England look up Britain) did a lot of invading and caused a lot of wars. The British empire also did a lot of good, building infrastructure and also doing a things for the local people. Much like the Romans did with roads etc.. Its a very complex and long history. Really it is more an entire culture creating a religion based on their culture, instead of influencing culture it defines it, regardless of any consequences.
