Hudman is taking this personally now he is insulting me and his buddy is insulting Old Guitar Player.

You guys are pure class.

Not only ignorant but have ego's the size of Alaska and can't bear to hear any facts that differ from their pre-conceived notions or they go into attack mode and start calling people stupid and fresh out of prison.

Did you graduate from high school?

I'm not taking anything personal. I think you are new to guitars and you think you know everything already. I base my opinion of you on your words. You started slinging insults and acting like a pompous jerk. Either work on your delivery or keep posting like a smart ass and stop crying when you get called out for it. It's your choice.

No one insulted OGP, it was a joke. OGP knew it was a joke. Most of us are friends here. It doesn't surprise me that you can't pick up on sarcasm.

See if Zager can sell you a sense of humor.

Cort and Samick are different companies. Cort builds Cort, Ibanez, Parkwood, Schecter, G&L Tribute, low price Avalon guitars and other brands. They are based out of South Korea and Indonesia.

Samick builds Samick, Gregg Bennett, Epiphone, Gibson, Washburn, Hohner and other brands. They are also based out of Korea.

Nice picture.

Are these Zagerites loonies or shills, or both?

Incidentally and FYI, there aren't any Avalons being made in Korea or the Czech Republic at the moment.

I'm not sure. :freak:

They act like I insulted their father by suggesting that they paid a lot for an after market set up. I refuse to buy into their theory that Denny revolutionized the guitar set up or that he invented a new procedure. I also don't believe in the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy.

The more they carry on, the funnier they get.

I don't know which Cort plant (they have multiple plants in different countries) built the budget Avalons or how long they were contracted to build them. I do recall hearing about some quality issues with them from forum members here. :idk:

Yes...correct there was no offense taken on my part. I am well aware of my rather scraggly appearance...

OGP

My mother says I look like a convict every time I get a haircut (I buzz it down real low or shave it clean). She begs me to let my hair grow. Pretty funny considering I'm almost 40 years old and she used to beg me to cut it when I was a teenager. Apparently, airport security and security at large venues think I look like a convict or a terrorist. I usually get the full service inspection off to the side at every security check and metal detector I come across. My buddies die laughing every time it happens. They usually yell something encouraging like: "Give him a cavity search."

This is pretty funny. The last time I renewed my driver's license, my wife took one look at it and said, "You better not get pulled over." :cop:

It has it's good points. Drunk people looking for trouble usually don't mess with me and strangers usually don't strike up conversations with me about their cat, crop circles, the price of tea in China, etc, while standing in line. :D

I was a looney magnet when I had hair.

Yes kind of like your Dream of the Marxist workers paradise. Marx was an idiot. Take everyones money and redistribute it to everyone and the workers will all sit in circles and sing "Kum by yah".

Only problem is human nature such as you have demonstrated on this thread.

Ain't no such paradise ever gonna happen. But when you believe in stuff that ain't true you come up with or believe in silly theories whether it be on economics or guitars.

What kind of guitars do you own Hudman?

In an effort at concilliation:

I own the Zager Zad-80 (you already know my opinion on this one), Blueridge BR-240 (an excellent guitar), Martin D-15 Custom which is a decent guitar. My son owns a Martin DXM (a piece of garbage, balanced but very weak. Plug it in or don't play it), My daughter owns a Breedlove AC-200 (another piece of junk, all bass and no treble).

Man I'm glad I'm not part of this thread! OOPS, I guess I am. I'm going to go back to my Zager thread, things have calmed way down over there.

Since Im here, let's all take up a collection and buy Hudman a Zager guitar, have it shipped to his house, let him try it out for a week, then send it back. Then let's here first hand opinions based on experience and facts!

Ok, Ok, I'm leaving....

I never said anything bad about your guitar other than the inflated price of the "string science" and my issues with Denny's deceptive advertising tactics. I am not interested in playing a Zager. My opinion would not change. Why? I am familiar with ultra low action and zero neck relief. My electric guitars were set up that way in the 1980's. I'm not going to play a guitar with ultra low action and think "Wow!, This guitar is worth $200 extra dollars!" My guitars are set up EXACTLY like I like them.

You Zager guys view any negative comments towards Denny as an insult towards you and your guitars. I don't get it.

I told you that I am glad you are happy with your guitar. No need to continue to throw spit balls at me.

Be happy and play your guitar. Don't be a bitter Guitar Hack. :thu:

You truly cannot see a joke, you thought the crack on OGP was serious and now you believe that Hud is a commie. By the way, if you every read Das Kapital or the Communist Manifesto, you would understand that the reason things do not work the way Marx said was because people became educated. When I look at what Marx wrote, he wrote it as a warning to the big companies. You have to understand that during that time period the common man was extremely uneducated. Marx was saying that once the layman understood how he was being mistreated, he would revolt. However, Marx's biggest flaw in his theory was not believing education of the masses would ever happen. Also, Marx himself disapproved of his radical followers, because he realized they would use his work for exploitation of the many and near the end of his life, he proclaimed, "I am not a Marxist." This was due to the fact people began to use his work in ways it was not intended. BTW I am not a socialist or a Marxist, but I still think Zagers are overpriced. Have a great day and enjoy your guitars!

P.S. Why does it matter if other people don't like it, if you like it?

I see you can dish it out but can't take it. I will put my Zager up against the guitars you have. It will fair very well against your Larrivee OM-03R which is a decent guitar. I suspect it will kick the Alvarez butt. Only difference is we are comparing apples and oranges as the Zager is rosewood. I've actually played the Larrivee but not the Alvarez though I have played other Alvarez and have owned the RD20SC.

I prefer the tone of Mahogany to rosewood and it appears you do also. I like the more balanced tone but for some songs rosewood is hard to beat.

I have no desire to create an enemy here but you know I was just answering a guys question and got piled on.

I don't care what they think about it. It just irks me to see people put down a guitar they know nothing about and have never played. It's just dishonest and uneducated. There are other people out there who will see this and make decisions based on misinformation. I guess it's the basic unfairness of it.

yeah but right now you can get an all solid wood rosewood guitar for 299 from musicians friend...

Really, what model. Generally solid wood is better than laminate but not necessarily always. I had a Parkwood 310M that was all solid wood it was a good guitar but not a great one and then bought a Blueridge BR-240 which is a much nicer guitar with better tone and is closer to a great one. But then again it's made with better materials.

But are you not helping further this along by performing personal attacks? To an average joe, that kind of seems like you have run out of defenses for your git IMHO. But, as I have said before, I have played one. I think they are overpriced, it didn't speak to me. :idk: I just didn't like it, sorry. Just as no one here can change your view about your git, you cannot change anyone elses. So let's just end this and play the heck out of the guitars we have!!!

I didn't make any personal attacks in this thread. Personal attacks were made against me. All I did was point out the falacies in some unfounded arguments and other people said they were personal attacks. There is a difference between pointing out facts and the Marxist part was based on posts by others who apparently knew him and called him (Hudman) a Marxist. That was a response to personal attacks on me. How about giving Hudman and a couple other guys some grief for personal attacks rather than piling on.

Anyway I'm done with this thread so get your cheap shots in while you can.
