Members Glenn F
Hey everybody! I am happy to say that I have not bought a new guitar since this mess began. I have no urge to buy any more guitars or other musical/recording toys. It sure feels weird! But it's a good weird.... Just thought I'd announce that. Cheers, Glenn
Members Stackabones
That's exactly what they were hoping to do. The next format change will make you want to stop playing guitar. HC Masterminds are working on it as we speak.
Members Jimmy Chaos
Didn't work for me. Got major GAS I think I've narrowed it down to 2 choices though... Martin 000-15m Taylor DN3
Members kwakatak
Not me. I'm thinking about picking up a Yamaha. First, though, I gotta take care of Mother's Day and my anniversary and summer vacation and ... *reality sets in* OTOH I should be getting that bone saddle in the mail soon. Members gitnoob
I completely FAILED at the GAS-free test. I felt good. Very happy with what I had. Even started selling off a spare or three. And then it happened. Not one, but two. Guitars that have intrigued me for a while showed up out of the blue. When it rains, it pours. Or when it rains, I get GAS. Or something. Stay tuned for more info. OK, you twisted my arm. I'll give you a hint. One of them is a girly guitar.
Members panhandler
Prior I had GAS for a lil Blueridge I played, now it's gone. Hmmmm...
Members Glenn F
Of course, my YouTube page gave me a suggestion for someone testing out a Martin 000-RGT, which is a nice guitar. Very nice, though I wouldn't want to get my hands on it. Nope. Not me. I've used the time away from forums to work on my health (I've dropped a lot of weight in the last 3 months), and an old original song that I wrote when I was 22. I'll hopefully get to share that with you on the next VOM. Just need to do a bit more playing around with Logic's automation functions, and it will be done. Take care, all! Members gitnoob
Sounds like you're doing better, Glenn -- glad to hear it! And reward yourself for that weight loss. Perhaps a new git.

Perhaps a new git. Nope. Don't need no new git. It is strange, but my GAS is sated. It is fun to be using what I have now. On the recording I just finished, I've used my Martin 000-M, new Casino, and my Tele. It is the first multi-track thing I've done in a while, and I enjoyed it. Logic can be controlled with the Mac remote, and it does take folders with quickswipe comping, so I can relax when I'm playing, and just make music. Didn't use the comping feature too much, though. I expect that I'll be about my 'normal' weight by the end of the year, perhaps sooner. I am still facing non-trivial surgery on a couple of fronts, though, unfortunately. Cheers, beers, Glenn
Members gitnoob
Sorry, man, I think I misread you. I assumed your weight loss was part of your focus on improving health, but if it's a result of your health issues, then I wish you much weight gain. Those beers should help. Best of luck with the surgery. One of the reasons I took up guitar was to ensure I'd have pleasant company around if everything else went to hell around me. Loyal companions, these gits. Members Hudman
My GAS went away and now it's back in low gear. I'm still wanting a 000-15 in a bad way, but my finances are a mess at the moment. The good news is there is a light at the end of the tunnel (and it's not an oncoming train). The weight loss is deliberate. I've been pretty overweight for about 14 years, and I've paid the price in the last few. I was once a serious athlete, so it feels good to be returning to form (as much 'form' as a 50 year-old man can return to, I guess). And, I am enjoying making music again, rather than obsessing on what I 'need' to make that music. Thanks for your kinds words, though! Glenn Edit: oh, and Montreal beat Washington (though I doubt they'll get past Pittsburgh) which put me in a good mood.
Members OldGuitarPlayer
Well.....I cannot think of a time I don't have GAS...Serious lack of funds puts out the fire pretty fast though...What I am really GASing for is a good sturdy gigbag I can safely carry my Martin 000-15 in. The hardcase is a pain in the...you know what. It's heavy and forces me to take the bus to my weekly gig. With a good gigbag I can ride my bicycle like I always have done in the summer. I also need to invest in a good pickup system for my Martin too so this stuff is more of a priority now. This is a message for Glenn F (he'll understand ):GO HABS GO!!!! Members valentsgrif
Without vibrant chatter about Yammies and Seagulls; Washburns and Epi's, etc., I've become very satisfied for the long term future with my current holdings. When a door shuts, another one is opened is kinda true.
Members bigald18
Recentl, I've sold my Yamaha LJ6 and my Parkwood PW320M. I didn't play the enough. Still have my classical, Martin 000-15M and Alvarez MF350. I am in the process of building a classical guitar but have no gas whatsoever for any more gits. It feels good.BigAl
