Members deanmass
I am always amazed by him...he never plays it safe, usually sounds fantastic, stretches out regularly, and seems to have hit his stride, balancing the old tunes with the new....One of the very best, ever. And, even though it was way too loud on my tv, It was nice to have a live, in your face guitar mix...squeeks, and all..

Moderators Lee Knight Posted February 5, 2007 Moderators Share Posted February 5, 2007 I hoped he play it like that... let the music speak. I get the feeling he's saying to the younger musicians, "THIS is how you do it." There is no one today doing it as well as him. Lip sync? No thank you, let me f#$%in' rock! Nice phallic silloette from his guitar projected from behind the parachute material. Sort of a nod to Janet without cheesing out. Great singing, great guitar playing, great tone. Cool as a cucumber and twice as big. He's the best.
Moderators Lee Knight Posted February 5, 2007 Moderators Share Posted February 5, 2007 ...and, synching with a marcing band?!?!?!? Amazing. ...and, in the pouring rain?!? Risking a bad slip just to make the far end of the stage to rip a solo then make his mark back at the vocal mic just in time. All in perfect pitch. PRINCE! Gus Lozada
I put my money on an actual live performance.Maybe the band was already recorded. His voice and guitar, no way.

Members where02190
As with all superbowl shows, track, with live guitar and his vocal, but still one of the best in years AFAIK. Visually completely stimulating, particularly the Purple Rain guitar solo, and that amazing looking stage.
Members Ara Ajizian
One of the best Super Bowl halftime shows I've seen in recent memory. Then again, Prince always delivers doesn't he?
Members UstadKhanAli
It'd be really difficult to get the whole band going in six minutes, with or without the rain. Anyway, was a lot of fun to watch.

Anyway, was a lot of fun to watch. Not with an army (literally the US Army) of people well coordinated, and about a weeks worth of rehearsal. Add to that it's the same production team that's been doing this for several years.
Members Ernest Buckley
I liked his rendition of the Foo Fighters song, making it sound R&B. The guy is a great talent and I truly enjoyed those dancers! Aside from that, the mix IMO sucked. Too much guitar. No bass, no drums or maybe it was my TV? Members daklander
I put my money on an actual live performance.Maybe the band was already recorded. His voice and guitar, no way. Well, he was on wireless on mic and guitar so that I thought could well be and when he pushed over the mic stand and you could hear it hit the stage I was pretty sure that was live. The drummer was, at least playing but those other guys in the band with their electricals.....Hmmmmm.

Members 2180
His voice has no content, it sounds too faggy, no depth, I wonder to this day why so many worship at lord assles pants. Guitar did sound good, but not even close to Jimi. My opinion only, please don't stalk me over this.

Members 2180
Ya.....thin and faggy, I think people listen to him with all the over-dubs and think thats him, then when he does a rare show, you hear the actual voice and if you love the guy enough, you over-look it. I don't know if he's queer or not and I don't care.
Members GioNYC
Absolutely, the best part of the superbowl! Prince always brings a tear to my eye. When I was growing up, this is who I wanted to be. High heels and all! "). Prince just ROCKS!

Members cooterbrown
He never fails to bring it...funny to see him "give it back" to Dave Grohl...that was cool. It's nice to see Prince comfortable with himself, and his older material again, too.
Members 2180
I'm not trying to ruffle anyone's feathers, but he didn't play any-of his-or-other songs thru to the end, like all along the watchtower, why do you say this is great, I'm miffed by the thoughts here and I really don't think I'm being that harsh, this is probably a good place to just shut-up.
