Members hardtdc
I just don't understand it, but I find that I'm drawn more and more to playing acoustic these days than to plugging in. Anyone else feeling this?

Members hardtdc
I'm especially feeling it with open F these days. I've been writing a lot of stuff acoustically with that tuning. It's killer for acoustic guitar.
Members Belva
I go thru stages like this quite a bit. I have my old Washburn that I got new 31 yrs ago. I go back to it like an old girlfriend that I can't stay away from. Look at it this way. Your chops will be better when you get back to the electrics. Members Doctor Morbius
I've tried playing my acoustic on occasion. Then I'm reminded how badly I play and switch back to electric on short order. I suck on electric too but at least I can fumble through a few songs. Members bsman
I probably play acoustic 90% +, but I like this place a heck of a lot better than HCAG... Anyway - I love electric and the associated gear, but it's so much easier to just break out an acoustic. No plug, no fuss, just pick it up and play! Members Help!I'maRock!
its been acoustic and bass for me lately.
Members mrbrown49
....No plug, no fuss, just pick it up and play! Damn I miss that. I used to play acoustic almost exclusively, but stopped a while back. It's so easy to get lost in tone chasing and gear.
Members FineLine
...good exercise for sure! ...and as others more learned than I above have said, go with it, it's a cycle, no worries. Maybe you'll learn something important on acoustic? ...maybe you'll {censored}-yer-pants when you get back to fancying your electric more? Sounds like the stage is set for plenty o' growing musically! Good luck dude!!
Members FineLine
Oh yeah, and I've been playing lots of mandolin & acoustic for the last couple of years. It has HELPED.

Members Stackabones
I gig and write and teach on acoustic, so 90% of my guitar time is on acoustic. Too bad it doesn't have P90s.
Members soundcreation
Not at all. But that's probably because I don't own an acoustic. That will change in the next month or two though. So we'll see.
Members tp4mybunghol
I've been playing mostly acoustic. it's just easier, and I can watch tv while i pick a jaunty tune. Mainly playing in open D. So i've never tried open F before, is that low to high F, A, C, A, C, F?
Members Jealousblues
I still can hardly stand to play acoustic so it all evens out
Members triestobeat
oh dude, i've been doing that forever. there was this phase where i literally cranked my amp with as much distortion as possible and that's all i would do. then one day i just started playing my acoustic non stop, it was really weird but i've come to like it a lot. Members zenbu
same here only in my case it`s been nylon strings, after getting my first about 5 years ago, I can`t seem to put them down...or stop buying them but at the prices I pay for most, youse would do the same I`m sure. Members nanobug
Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes acoustic is just more convenient, I keep an old beater hanging on the wall next to my back door so I can grab it and relax on my back porch while my kids play in the yard. If it weren't there, and I wanted to play, I'd have to grab a whole bunch of cables, a pedal, stand and guitar to drag outside and then back in again. I think it's always better to be playing something than not playing at all, so go with it and see where it leads.

Anyone else feeling this? Your in the wrong forum. I bought an acoustic in 1998 and it hasn't been out of it's case. Biggest waste of money. Members Citizen_Insane
Nope, I gave my acoustic to some friends. I don't even enjoy playing an acoustic guitar any more
Members TommyT5
I got my acoustic upstairs in my room (even though it's an electro-acoustic i never plug in) and all the proper electric stuff downstairs in the living room. Sooo depends what room i am in. Sometimes can't be bothered to plug in the amp and stuff so i may play my electrics unplugged Living room (electric):PRS copy - use it plugged ONLYLes Paul copy - unplugged ONLY...well 99.9% of the time
