One of my favorite bands. This song means a hell of a lot to me.

Love everything about this song. The video, the lyrics, and the riff.

Another cool one.

rap and country both are incredible genres with GREAT music. do people really judge this stuff by what they hear on the radio?

both arcade fire albums are incredible in their own right, listen to funeral first then neon, i like to get into bands by listening to older stuff first, its nice to see the transition and how the band grows and changes.

^Holy Crap, Arcade Fire! I've heard of them, but damn that was good. .

+1 on Arcade Fire. I was gonna list them also but was afraid of getting flamed.

White Stripes are rocking. Rancontuers with Jack is solid.

The Fratellis

Black Crowes

well, i was all stoked on this thread when i saw the title, then i saw the crap posted all over it and just gave up.

oh well.

Well, you COULD suggest some new music that you like, instead of simply being an ass and taking a big steaming dump on everybody else who did so.

come on ... disturbed? really?

Yeah, really. "Meaning of Life" is fabulous summer-time highway cruising music.

Still waiting for you to stop hating on everybody else and put some of your own favorites out there. Or just shut up and go away, either suits me fine.

So... You don't like any rock at all, and you find redneck music endlessly fascinating. That's fine, but no reason to put down everybody else.

Personally, when I listen to country, I like it old-school... especially if Iris DeMent has anything to do with it.

i dont really like any new rock, no. it's all just gotten too stupid and overdone; trying entirely too hard to fit into a scene. the more roots stuff i've found has been far more honest.

i've not heard a rock band i thought was worth a damn in years. QOTSA's done some cool {censored}, but kyuss was way better and they're not exactly new. i think i had their first record in like what ... 98? i dig jack white's playing but i can't stand his voice.

maybe i'm soured on all these bands that sound like the killers (or generally have that feel) because those guys still owe me beer for all the drinks i bought them when they were broke as hell playing to 10 people at the ice house on main st. in vegas.

really, rock's pretty crappy these days. it's always been derivative, but at least it used to be derivative of good {censored}. not so much anymore. c'est la vie.

you asked, i posted the good {censored} i've found over the last couple years. sorry it ain't yer bag.

I haven't heard of half of these bands but most of them are pretty good.
I don't really listen to any modern music so I don't have any suggestions..
The post with the Kanye West and the other rap was a big thumbs down for me however, I thought this thread was about music? :cop:
Just my opinion of course

i'm not interested in having this argument anymore. there's so much music out there that it doesn't matter. as long as you're not stuck listening to the same {censored} you were a decade ago, and you're always looking for something new (or at least new to you), then that's all that matters.
