Members GAS Man
For me its my finely crafted , in the heart of Indonesia . . . . . . . . . . Worn '66 Wilshire (aged cherry) Pics Why? 1) I like it's balance - it's slightly neck heavy - yeah I know we've been taught to fear "neck heavy", but my hand never leaves the neck which means the neck is always balanced against my fret hand. Whether your sitting or standing, it's a good balance. It's not going to droop if you're standing unless you have a slick nylon strap and jumping around on stage. Now you take a Les Paul for example, if you're balancing it on your right thigh the weight of the back end of that guitar makes it want to roll off your lap to the right (so I feel compelled to put a strap on). Not happening with the Wilshire. 2) I like the satin feel 3) I like the wide slim neck feel. It feels almost flat on the back (isn't) compared to my Gibsons which just makes it feel comfy and fast. 4) It doesn't immediately draw comparison to another higher end model in my fleet. It's its own critter. 5) The mini-hums are a win for me. So far these are my favorite sounding Epiphone pickups 6) a $300 guitar

Members kit_strong
Epi 56 LP. It's well made, plays and sounds great, is fairly light, and I got it for a steal ($250 with hard case)

This is a great guitar. Feels great, plays great. It's light, it's everything you'd want in a guitar.

Members GAS Man
^^ Yeah, I've been tempted by those too. You figure they've got to be a win with the Gibby p'ups in them. But I ended with an Elitist Casino instead. (this one is mine) But I haven't bonded with it yet (but it will remain in my collection for some time) but the light hollow body sound of a Casino is just something I haven't developed into my playing at this point. If I dial things up to play a bit of the Beatles "Revolution" I can go, "yeah, there it is", but I just don't play in that type of tone that often and then the tone seems a bit too light to me in other modes. But that's just me and Casinos. I think I'm just more of a solid body or semi-hollow body guy (at least for now).

Members cratz2
2002 Epiphone LP Studio, made in Korea. Bought it for $100 at Guitar Center because of a wonky pot and a slightly flakey switch. I fixed the switch and replaced the pot. Then put on a new nut and went through a couple pickup changes before settling on a Dimarzio Evo in the bridge and a GFS Alnico II in the neck. Members dmc69
I have one of those too, except mine is the older MIK model, and it's a really really nice guitar. I probably wouldn't bother with that one again. Feels more finely finished, not like the satin finish of the Worn '66 (but the satin worn feels better in my hand) but it strikes me as being the typical Epi where you get it and pretty much immediately start thinking about which p'ups you want to mod it with. But it does have coil split and I like those tones on that guitar better than the full HBs. But despite my "meh" reaction to the Ltd Pro, it enjoys pretty high marks from the MF reviewers. But the '66 is definitely more "the win" for me. Love the guitar. HATE the headstock! Looks like something you'd get at an adult shoppe

Members GAS Man
My g400 limited edition... I have this one G400 that's pretty cool too. It's now a Gibson/Epi though because I had one unused BB Pro kicking around so I bought one more and BB Pro'd it. It's got quite a bit more vibe and chime to it now and I'm pretty happy with the upgrade. However, I'd probably recommend something with a bit less presence to it like a BB 1&2 or Seth Lovers, but that G-400 wakes up any amp now. Looks like something you'd get at an adult shoppe Yeah, a lot of folks don't like the batwing HS, but I found them to be amusing from the first time I saw them. It doesn't try to copy something else and strikes me as being a more unique design than many. I have had more trouble getting used to the Epi LP style "clipped ear" open-book style HS but I don't fixate on that either like I used to. I often thought there's a market out there is someone were to manufacture and sell "Epiphone HS ear clips" so you could glue them on to make them the same as the Gibson style.
