yeah..Im dumb...Im not getting the 16 Fret neck??? just the access?

It has less access than the 17-fret, but it puts the pickups in a different spot along the length of the string. Some say the neck is more stable, but I'm not sure if that's really the case.

Did you have trouble with the bridge p'up spacer on yours being too high?

Mine is, but I bought one fairly early on. I'm wondering if they factory fixed that issue or if folks are finding the same thing and or working it out.

For right now, I like mine fairly well, sound quite good through my Fender Blues Junior, but I want to shave down that spacer so I can get the action lower.

Mine is fine

I have one of these as well. It's pretty much a case queen but I need to pull it out and enjoy it more.

My 1965 Lennon USA Series Casino. Assembled in Memphis, nitro, Gibson parts, Switchcraft switches. This is a great guitar. Feels great, plays great. It's light, it's everything you'd want in a guitar.

My '06 MIK Sheraton. Besides the fact that it was a surprise present from my wife and kids, it's just an amazing player. The workmanship is flawless and I love the neck. It's completely stock and I keep thinking about a pickup upgrade, but every time I A/B it vs. a Gibson I can't hear enough difference to justify it.

I played with a Peerless Casino for a little while and while it was an amazing guitar I decided to stick with the Sheraton. I loved the P90s in it though and at some point I'll probably do a major tuneup, replace the electronics and put a set of hum sized P90s in the Sheraton. I'll probably go with BG Pure 90s but since Brian doesn't make gold ones I have to figure out what color would look good with the natural finish.

I would love to have one of those korina Vs or Explorers. I haven't played a V or Explorer in years, so I don't know what they sound like or feel like. It's me basically falling in love with a picture. they may be total {censored} pieces. I just like the way they look.

Epiphone eh?

100_1980.jpg
Sorry. Sold them all

Here is My Favorite Gibson

2010 SG Standard in Heritage Cherry

Why? It Rocks

It's The Real Deal

It's What I've Always Wanted

It's Why I bought Epiphones until I realized The G-400 just wasn't quite 'it'

But, I still love Epiphones.

I may buy another Les Paul eventually

Yeah I have a Gibson SG Standard just like that. And it's AMAZING!!!

The look, the feel, the tone... and even the smell ..... all just blow me away.

But I still love my Epi G400 too and I hope to never part with either of 'em. :)

I own both of them

Compared to these Gibsons

I actually tend to prefer the Epiphones. The Gibsons are voiced better for metal. The Epiphones have a bit more of a phat/vintage tone.

That Gibson Explorer I bought for my son and he loves it and does play metal. The Faded Gibson V, despite getting it for under $500, I couldn't bond with its tone so I returned it. The Epiphones are "keepers" for me.

The Epi Explorer has a set of Gibson '57s standing by for my "some day" project and the V has a Jazz and Seth Lover also standing by but so far they are both stock. On the Epi V, it's my favorite of the two, the Epi stock bridge pickup is actually a very nice fit for the V. What is sometimes referred to as "muddy" in an Epi pickp, gives that V lots of warmth and a full tone. I was hesitant to ever replace it, but I do think that the Seth Lover will work well.

Bottom line, they are both nice guitars. I like the limba wood they use in them. I gives them a resonant vocal quality to them. Sounds a bit semi-hollow-ish compared to mahogany.

This one is also one of my top favorite Epiphones.

It's the Popa Chubby signature V. I bought it used from Elderly Music

Bottom line, I really do like the bluesy phat tone off of the Epiphone Korinas.

I'd have to say it's my Wilshire installed with Surf 90 pickups. I love the weight and balance of the guitar. The tone is just so spanky/sparkly now. And to think that I was just about to sell it.

This is nice. For some reason, the Wilshire reminds me of the Fender Jaguar. I have no idea why.
