Not really modern as it is a 70:s model but anyways.

Probably my favourite bodyshape.

And 10 strings makes it stand out too.

----------------A B.C. Rich Bich is the poster child for a modern design that has nothing to do with any of the top guitar companies:eek:, yet has a rabid fan base. Almost all of the classic B.C. Rich shapes have this modern sense about them.............................The REAL Rocker.

Does something count as a modern guitar design if it's simply a variation of an old one, just designed recently? Do modern electronics or materials make it a modern guitar design?

If yes, then my vote goes to Flaxwood. The shape itself isn't exactly modern but the materials are. They're made of a sprayable wood fiber, the hollowbody and neck as well as the nut and back cover plate are all made of the same material. They're hollowbodies because otherwise they'd be kinda heavy, now being about the same weight as an average Strat. The material feels a lot like ebony and looks like it except it has grey lines and splotches in it, kinda unique. In any case it's a great alternative material and the guitars sound great. Made right here in Finland.
