Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted February 11, 2010 Moderators Share Posted February 11, 2010 I really should check out some more Pink Floyd. I don't listen to them, but I like what I'm hearing This is not something that should be admitted in a public place:facepalm: You need to just go and do some immersion therapy for a few weeks Your prescription is: Obscured by Clouds Atom Heart Mother Meddle Dark Side of the Moon Wish You Were Here Animals To be taken everyday for 4 weeks at regular intervals
Members Jakey
+ 1 for Comfy. And the outro solo from this. Not bad for 62 year old fat, slow fingers. (his words)
Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted February 11, 2010 Moderators Share Posted February 11, 2010 Be-Bop Deluxe It'd difficult to find the best of the album Axe Victim, but it contains some of the most gorgeous of Bill Nelson's work Here's one: Todd Rundgren's fingers spoke some beautiful stuff, get hold of the album Ra, by Utopia, one side of which is a story/concept This is a live rendition of part of that work

Members EJD
This solo. It's epic. I'd say the most beautiful solo I've heard was November Rain my GnR. I could definitely feel a lot of emotion in there. Incredible solos.
Members paulojcduarte
/thread I'm not really a fan of his technique, but Slash has some memorable rock solos, eventho he doesn't get out of that comfort zone.

Members Doctor49
Some odd ones off the top of my head:Elvin Bishop - Fooled Around And Fell In LoveYes - Going For The OneShudder to Think - She Might Be Waking Up yes for Elvin - very appropriate. Also Larry Carlton on Donald Fagans New Frontier Almost forgot.haters will hate but the solo in Have you heard on the Beano album is pretty damn hard to beat for structure and emotion. For an 18 year old (about).
Members Faber
several of those that come to mind first have already been mentioned. A couple worth noting Mark Knopfler: Planet of new orleans - silly song but the guitar work is spot onLarry Carlton: It was only yesterday. Clapton: Running on faith - live on 24 nights. Scott Henderson: Tore Down House

Members bluesway
the lack of wes montgomery here is insulting. I don't care if you're not a big jazz guy; go out an buy "Smoking at the half note" and pick any one of the solos he plays at that show as the most beautiful guitar solo ever. just sick

Members GCDEF
I've never seen a Videographer {censored} up such a great piece of history in my life, probably one of the most prolific solos in rock history - and this dickwad has his camera on the Disco ball instead of his fingers...Pisses me off LOL:mad: It's kind of weird though. I was there and the ball thing was a HUGE part of the experience. It doesn't convey well on film, but in person it was really mesmerizing. You had to be there. There's no way to adequately experience it.
