Members WillShrdForFood
I'm not a bass player, but I find my clips lacking without that good centered bass track. I dont have a lot of coin to blow on a bass, maybe 250 bucks, maybe a little more if I find a good deal. I'd use the solely just to record bass tracks onto my clips, nothing more. The basses I've been looking at are the Epiphone Les Paul bass and the Peavey Millenium 5 string. I find myself leaning towards the Peavey most, but I'm open to other suggestions. True, but lot's of options to worry about, etc. That's why I recomend a Pbass for bassic needs like stated here. One sound that works well with everything, almost unscrewupable when recording. Members 2manband
No personal experience, but a lot of people here like the SX stuff for cheap bedroom basses - Maybe one of these: http://www.rondomusic.net/spb57blk.html
Members Billystrat
P-basses are a yes. If you are recording I'd try for something other than an SX, they have a some noise for recording staight in the board. Peavey is always a nice choice. Members makoshark
I wouldn't spend a dime without first trying a Gretsch short scale. They are 30" scale, so they play like a guitar but the stock sound is huge. they are great for recording. GC prices them at $250, but you could certainly talk them down. Members jannda
Any thing that doesn't resemble a fender would be fine. probably the most overrated basses in the history of music. THere I said it. Want to fight about it go ahead throw the first punch. LOL just kidding.
