Wake me up when you all wanna talk about how to be an effective music director, how to help band mates find the harmony note consistently and with confidence, how to encourage band mates and yourself to have situational awareness and a forward facing, inviting stage presence: which includes not looking or acting scared or timid up there. My whole point in posting our video is that we don't reall have vocal talent. Hell the lead in the OP probebly is a better singer than what we got. But: this is a band with no gigs and a handful of focused rehearsals as opposed to 2 years of gigs and obviously unfocused rehearsals. :yawn: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The classic rock band I play with has never had a band practice yet I play 45 nights with them last year. My main bands last practice was in Sept. IIRC. Unless we are working in a new drummer we will only have a rehearsal if we are learning a new song. I know one band locally who were rehearsing once a week for about 18 months before there first gig. But bad habits: making the same mistakes....that should be recognized and dealt with by either getting it locked down tight in rehearsal or dropping the tune. Agreed. My guy didn't get his Nashville gig by being tough to work with, and he's all the time telling me stories about razzy and how he'd keep the band on track.
