Members Freeman Keller
It belongs to the Mariachi music department at our local high school. The back was cracked at the joint with the sides around the neck heel - I was able to pull it together and reglue it, then do some drop filling and stabilized the inside with surgical gauze tape. With the size and weird angles it posed an interesting problem in clamping. A lot of these Mexican instruments are really pretty poorly built - there is almost no bracing on the sides and back and very small linings (where kerfing would be on a guitar). Add to that that the kids are pretty rough on them and I get to fix a fair number of interesting instruments. I usually do the work pro bono. One interesting side note - many of these Mexican instruments bear a label that says "hand crafted in China"
Members gitmo
Interesting instrument. I thought a dreadnought was a handful.
Members Emory
Might fit nicely in a bath tub. Or rig something up using stands for car engines when they are pulled. Ah, nice weather coming, right? Dig a pit, do the work, and use to roast a pig Hawaiian style when done
