Members bluesmann
Did someone mention the warrantee?
Members Grant Harding
Fair comment. They're great bang for the buck though. I'll be over here with my cork collection...
Phil O'Keefe
Don't forget - a new instrument will come with a warranty. Like everyone else, I'd pass on that Dot in the OP. Too risky.

Members ryanward84@gmail.com
Yeah I definitely passed on the Dot. It was cheap but not that cheap. My price range is under $300. My main guitar is a Highway 1 Strat that I like, I just want something to back up for gigs and that has some different tonal options than the single coil strat sound. I do love Fenders though, so I have been looking into the Vintage Modified Squires even though most of them are single coil guitars as well. I have a friend who has two made in Korea Epi Les Pauls and they are nice guitars so those are on the radar. I'm not set on a hollow body like the Dot per say. Members bluesmann
They don't have them in stock so I went to Zzounds. I don't believe they're making the es 335 pro any more and these are leftovers from 2015 ish . could be wrong. Zzounds only one finish to pick from too. Members thatsbunk
just checked & the link says "in stock & ready to ship" (don't appear to be available in the same color you got though).
Moderators daddymack Posted February 23, 2017 Moderators Share Posted February 23, 2017 $300 is a tough price point, but the used market has potential. I recommend you take a look at Reverb.com to get a feel for what may fall in that range. I see bolt-neck Asian Gretsch guitars in/under that range frequently. Another option is Hondo Music... Members bluesmann
Better check, I went there first and it said what you said in stock, but it wasn't so I canceled the order and went to Zzounds
Members bluesmann
Excuse me , but did you say Hondo like in Hondo guitars from the 80's?
Members gdsmithtx
Probably meant Rondo.
Members Markod59
Did you pass on the guitar in the end ? I just bought one used with similar cracks around the neck joint. It’s a 22 year old Epi 335 built in Korea. The store I bought it from swears it’s just cosmetic and the neck is perfectly fine. Apparently these cracks are common. Was just wondering if anyone else has a guitar like this that has been fine
