Members Jenesis
I guess these, as they're the only 2007 albums I've bought... The Chemical Brothers - We Are the Night Battles - Mirrored Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos Ozzy Osbourne - Black Rain Explosions In The Sky - All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone Megadeth - United Abominations Dark Tranquillity - Fiction Grinderman - Grinderman The Alan Parsons Project - The Essential Alan Parsons Project And Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero, but that's pretty average. Members Barnabyhuggins
I agree with many of the listed ones; Radiohead, Liars, Ryan Adams, Grizzly Bear, Health. Due to high expectations I was disappointed with, but didn't dislike, Jose Gonzalez, Interpol, Okkervil River "Sky Blue Sky" is probably my record of the year. It just hit right at the right time. I am now enamored with one of my top picks for next year: Black Mountain "In the Future." It comes out in January but if I could vote it for this year I would. A little Sabbath and a little Floyd and a little indie sensibility. It is a really really incredible record. If you get a chance to see them live, do! Check out this awesome live show while you're waiting. http://radio3.cbc.ca/concerts/Black-Mountain-2007-10-06/

Members english_bob
I didn't buy very many new albums this year. I'm still getting my head round the new Radiohead, but I really like the Feist album- I bought it because I kept seeing it in end of year best ofs, and it's SO good. Wilco's album was good too. Members Jacek
Hm, I would say: Neurosis - Given to the Rising (sludge, sludge...and then more sludge, thanks to Steve Albini)Paradise Lost - In Requiem (surprise, I had zero expectations for this one after a decade of lackluster albums from these guys, simply great catchy songs, that's all)Virgin Black - Requiem Mezzoforte (doom metal + classical opera = killer progressive stuff)Rotting Christ - Theogonia (these crazy Greeks slay me every time)Nile - Ithyphallic (no surprises, but great as always)Candlemass - King of the Grey Islands (DOOOOOOM!)Dimmu Borgir - In Sorte Diaboli (these Norwegians are back with the usual antics) On a surprising note, I rediscovered a lot of albums I haven't listened to since I was in college: The Breeders - PodThe Pixies - Surfer Rosa + Doolittle I haven't listened to them in so long, they feel like brand new albums *grin*
