Members warioblast
I'm even thinking about going with a 3 positions switch. What about you ?
Members MojoFilter
No wei, man. Those two and four positions are the majority of the reason why I'd bring a Strat to a gig in the first place. A Strat without 2&4 is a watered-down Tele. Almost. Members Electric Catfish
I use all 5. Gotta have dem toanz. Same here. On a Gibson, I'm almost always on the bridge pickup, though. I posted a thread once, either here or in EG, wondering what some of the earliest examples were of the 2/4 tones, but I didn't really get much feedback on it. I think the 5-way switch came along in the 70's, iirc (maybe earlier on modded strats?), and that people balanced the switch to get those sounds before that, but I don't know much, beyond that. You're missing out on a whole world there!Playing a Strat with a 5 position pickup switch is what convinced me to get a coil-split switch in my Les Paul copy. Members warioblast
Lately I've been using the middle-pickup position a lot. It used to be my least favorite position when I bought my strat 11 years ago.

Members BoredGuitarist7
1 and 2 are the best positions. Why get rid of 2?

Members zygoat
However, I hardly ever use the middle position on a tele.
Members warioblast
1 and 2 are the best positions. Why get rid of 2? What's the 1st position to your standard, neck or bridge ?
Members Ming Chow
I use pos. 4, when I do Little Wing. Other than that. I don't use 2 and 4 much. I've been using pos. 3 a lot.
Members erksin
When I actually play my Strat (which is almost never - TELES {censored}ING RULE), I pretty much stick to 1-3-5. I havean additional switch to activate my neck pup so I can do 1+5 or all three pickups on. But yeah, Strats suck balce.

Members Mxr20
It's cheesy crap All it does it put the pickups out of phase with one another so that the midrange frequencies are cancelled out People like it so much because its basically "scooping" the mids
Members BoredGuitarist7
What's the 1st position to your standard, neck or bridge ? I think of 1st as neck, and 5th being bridge.
