Go to your city's Craiglist Music Instruments For Sale and search "vintage."

What is the first thing that comes up?

Is it actually vintage?

I don't even know what this is. Doesn't look very vintage.

Overused word is overused.

I guess it depends on your definition of "vintage", right? I've heard that the word vintage (besides all the wine-o references) can mean

- greater than 25 years old

- representing the high quality of a past time

- old-fashioned or obsolete

In that case, that old organ could fit all three! But I see what you are saying. Oh, and here's the first listing for vintage in San Diego (I'll take your vintage keys over mine)...

Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer, Vintage overdrive

I guess this could be considered vintage.

my cut off is at least 25years.... so 1987. but still that's exaggerating.

This {censored} bothers me. (i probably spend too much time on CL though)

where's that rant thread I started on ILF a while back on this on a 2008 Devi Ever Electric Brown listed as "Vintage as used by Trent Reznor".... WTF. here it is.

even more is stuff listed as "Brand NEW/only 1 month old" when it clearly isn't.

the other day I was looking at an SVT listed as "brand new"

get there, and it's a 2008 serial number. a few visual scuffed in the toled,

beer sweat on the tolex (washed but still obvious)

and there's a road case that's clearly road worn...

i should have known better when the guy said he didn't have the receipt anymore.
