Members SonicMayhem42
I am just courious what peoples preferences are on scale length and why. I don't know which I prefer I have at least one of the 3 main scale lengths I think of 24", 24 and 3/4" and 25 and 1/2" length and I find I can do different things on each one. Anyone else want to chime in?

Phil O'Keefe
I've been using 25.5" and 24.75" all my life, but my vote is going to 24". Why? My hands:
Members eti
The Gibson scale is not 24.75", it is 24.562"
Members Player99
The Gibson scale is not 24.75", it is 24.562" Are you sure? I alway thought it was 24 3/4". I bought a Warmoth conversion neck and it is 24 3/4".
Members chris_d
I like all of them, for different reasons. I wind up playing 25.5" most just because that is what my most consistently stable guitar happens to be. But i am not too picky. I actually like swapping scale lengths periodically to shake ideas loose, as to me, different types of playing seem suited for each.

You might want to double check the measurements. Members mhuxtable
i prefer 25.5, but any will do. i have guitars with the 3 main scale lengths.
Members Pewtershmit
i have no preference, as string gauge can be adjusted also most guitars that use different scales tend to be waaay different from eachother. So it would seem I prefer guitar with 25.5, but that does not mean, I prefer 25.5.

Members Gremson
I like the feel of 25.5, but I love the sound of my Les Paul... So, there's that.
Members WAWBanks
24" Since I got my jaguar 3 years ago thats the only scale length that has felt right to me.

Members MojoZilla
Whatever the scale is on the guitar I happen to be playing at the time...
Members bmoncbus
25" is the scale on the best playing guitar I've ever had/tried, so I'd go with that (if it were an option).
