Members ben_allison
I'd honestly rather have an Openhaus than a Recto. You have to crank them to unusably loud levels to get them to really sound good, and even at that, the only reason people think they sound good is because they know they were used on records, in which, the amps had been tweaked to death, run through thousands of dollars of outboard, possibly to tape, by experienced engineers. Members MacBradley
This thread is pure truth. No distoriton pedal can come close to what my Tremoverb does with hi gain. Low and medium gain, yes, but for hi gain, Tremoverb please. And no, I don't play metal or hard rock. Super low output humbuckers, single coils, and almost almost neck pickups. More non-metal guys should give the Rectifier series a look IMO.
Members TomCTC
I've owned two Rectifiers before (Road King and a 3-channel Dual), and I quickly got over that dry, grainy distortion sound they do. Great bass response though, I could see running them on the pushed side of the clean alongside another 2x10 midrange driving amp.

Members Cirrus
The Tremoverb's "blues" mode on the red channel is awesome, I love that. Shame they didn't put that on the dual recs that came after, or I'd probably want one.
