Members skippydmongoose
i really shouldn't have posted this here: it was meant to be a hypothetical to generate interesting discourse i tend to forget the knuckle draggers hang out here and talk about 150 watt firebreathing amps which are typically played in their mom's {censored}ing basement with the headphone jack

Members Weathered
Here's the deal - Dumble never really seemed like he wanted to build or sell large numbers of amps. But if he had, I have no doubt that they'd be on par with Mesa nowadays. Doesn't make it any less of a moot point. Oh, and PCB's have nothing to do with it. Tell Andy Fuchs or Andy Marshall that PCB's are evil.
Members mseriously30
I think if you spoke in some form of the english language, I could pull my scabbed knuckles up to a thoughtful posture, and perhaps participate in a discussion. Members mdog114
I love my ODS30, it's got a VERY unique voice! I played a real ODS100 at Ultrasound about a year ago, and it was real nice too! You could crank it a bit in their big room too! It's not the easiest amp to dial-in though, you need to spend some time with it. The way the clean channels' initial gain feeds the OD channel is different than any other amp I've used. Here's a clip of the Fuchs, amp only -OD channel. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6237304
Members Cliff Fiscal
So....what you're trying to say is that if, Mesa wasn't so commercial today and throughout their history, they could have been more like Dumble?

Dumbles are hand built boutique amps. Mesas are nice, but mass produced. So you are asking if Dumbles were mass produced like Mesa, would they be as popular? Probably, because they would be cheaper. Duh????

Members RaceU4her
NO amp is worth that they are worth 50+ grand because thats what they are selling for these days. im not sure why people cant seem to understand why they go for so much. they are superb amps built buy a builder who only built a couple hundred for mostly elitist rock stars, and no more will ever be built. Its like saying an original 1964 cobra isnt worth the million dollars they are going for cause you can build a replica for 50 grand that is faster and handles better. your paying more for the history and rareness than you are for the tone
