Much can be learned by songwriters like "Jerome Kern".

 

His songs "The Way You Look Tonight", "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" and "All the Things You Are" move from key to key so gracefully.

 

They don't write em' like that anymore.

the next part is understanding the theory behind the progressions. There's another forum where I am a proud member called ibreathemusic.com . They have the music theory gurus of the interwebz there who know everything and anything about theory.
