Once I had a gun like that looked over by a smith, there would be nothing stopping me from trying to fire it.
:D

Hey it's quite tricky matter. It uses black powder, special ammunitions... Misfires, explosions and all kinds of crazyness waiting to happen LOL I'm no specialist in those things !

grandfather when he served in Napoleon's army in the beginning of the 19th century. I never tried to use it but all moving pieces are still in perfect order... It shoots small cannonballs ! Looks like this :

Wow! C'est un piece d'history vraiment!

I have an old Kentucky longrifle but most of the firing components are no longer intact and the stock is all cracked.

Yeah but they're quite common in France... What makes it very special for me is that
I probably wouldn't be there if the thing wasn't fired time and time again to kill oncoming opponents...

Did it come with the white flag they tied on the barrel?

No, not in France. Mainly all over Europe, in Holland, Swiss, Poland, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Ukrain, Russia etc. etc. When history fails you, google is your friend ("napoleonic wars") LOL

Man everyone here seems to be into the tacticool stuff. Anyone collect WWII milsurps?

I did the C&R thing for a while:

2 91/30s

2 Enfields

M44 carbine

2 or 3 various Mausers

Schmidt Rubin K31

And I snagged up a Danish turnback Garand from CMP, and an M1 carbine along the way. Would like to get an '03, but missed the boat on that one I'm afraid. They're still out there, but for more than I want to pay these days.

It's really that intimidating to you? Like I said, I wouldn't fire it without having someone who knew there {censored} look it over but there is no way I would pass up shooting a gun that old.

Similar to the US, with just more regulations regarding type of firearms allowed to be owned. You cannot open carry at all, but can conceal carry with a permit. There is also a limit on how many firearms you can own.

Quite strict but you are allowed to conceal carry a non-automatic weapon provided you have a permit which entails regular yearly training, no previous criminal record etc. All old weapons must be decommissioned (neutered) unless you have a special collector permit etc.

Heads up for anyone that shoots .45ACP. The Wal-Marts in my area put out Federal 100 rnd packs and they cost $25.97. The 50 round pack is $18 and 100 round packs of everything else cost $35+. Pretty sure this is a pricing {censored}up so you might want to head up to your wal-mart and grab some before they figure it out. Same price as 40S&W so I think that's probably the {censored}up. This is the cheapest I've seen good brass cased .45 in the last couple of years.

This makes be glad I only shoot 9mm. Payed $8.95 a box for Blazer aluminum online.

Btw, I think I posted this before, but if you guys want to find the cheapest ammo prices online go to wwww.gun-deals.com. It searches multiple sources all over the web.

I only shoot brass cased ammo unless using something Russian. :p I wish all I shot was 9mm. Here's what I currently regularly shoot (Not nearly as bad as it could be but yeah).

Well guys, I think I'm gunna do it. I'm finally going to build an AR-15. Probably going to order the lower tonight and get the upper when I've got a decent amount of cash. This gun is going to be a budget friendly shooter, so here's what I'm thinking:

New Frontier Armory LW-15 polymer lower

LW-15%20Complete.jpg

With the Huldra Mark IV piston upper in 5.45x39

t_545_upper.jpg

Probably a crate of these

And of course the Wolf extra strength hammer spring to ignite any stubborn primers

I'm not familiar at all with Huldra uppers but a quick search and it seems like they are good stuff. Badass man. How much is the whole gun going to run you?

Um, let me see. Should be $125 for the lower w/ transfer, $650 for the upper shipped and I guess about 5 or 10 bucks for the hammer spring. So, about $785 for everything. I know this isn't exactly a "budget" price for an AR, but with 5.45 ammo at pretty much half the price of 5.56, I figure it'll be worth it in the long run. Btw, I believe the Huldra upper is manufactured by Adams Arms and seems to be pretty good stuff. I know they specially developed it around the corrosive 5.45 ammo, so I shouldn't have to worry too much about that. Plus, I always clean my stuff.

Now I just need to figure out what I'm doing for sights/optics...

Edit: Actually, now that I look into it, the upper comes with an extra strength hammer spring already. Good to know. So, about $775 total.

Well cool man, sounds like you thought this through. You'll have to post pics and stuff once you get it done.

I'm actually in the process of selling some of my guns so I can buy another SCAR. I swore I would never sell any of them but I don't have the patience to save up.
