You are sort of right. It totally depends on the part of the country you are in. While there might be fewer and fewer "Literal Genesis" believers there are a ton of people who are still skeptical that OMG the universe might be billions of years old, that evolution actually happens (part of that is the fault of the schools and the hilariously outdated version of evolution they teach, er taught, when I was in school). Its not merely a healthy skepticism of science stating "We know this to be 100% true!" and its disproved a couple years later. Its a "Yeah, that's not true. The earth isn't 7000 years old, but its not 4 billion or so either. Something like maybe 100,000 or so. And Noah's flood totally happened and we'll find that Ark sooner or later." Again, its fringe in some areas, not so much in others. Eschatologist, you do have to remember that those who get the most coverage are often just the loudest whiners/most insane. Please don't judge the entire US by our (far too large number of) loonies.

Members Hardvalve
Maybe you just bore them with your meaningless diatribe, that is also a theory. Hardcore creationists annoy me, so do hardcore know it all Darwinian theorists. So many missing pieces on both sides, makes it a very incomplete picture we do not have all the answers yet. Members mbarn3065
Not a single living organism that has ever been discovered shows any sign, whatsoever, of having evolved by non-Darwinian means. If there were, the scientific method is precisely designed to discover it. There are no known species of any living organism anywhere on Earth that can not be fully described by evolution theory. The only people who assert otherwise are religious fundamentalists who have repeatedly demonstrated they do not understand how Darwinian evolution by means of natural selection actually works. Hence it is illegal in almost every industrialised nation on Earth to teach creationism in the science classroom.

For starters..... 1) That you know factually that natural selection is still the prevailing model of evolution. 2) That you know the origin of every species has already been explained. you don't

Members rushtallica
His plea will be effective in any way except getting amens from like-minded people. "Don't get your kids to do it" won't work because the people he's speaking to deeply believe they are correct, and there's no reason they would wish to steer their children away from what they believe is absolute truth. Very True. Dawkins spelled it out very well when he said, "There are no Catholic children, or Jewish children etc, only the children of Catholic or Jewish etc parents."
