  1. I think many people miss the sarcasm with him. He's a funny guy and I don't think he takes himself as seriously as many think he does. I think much of the stuff like sticking the guitar in the freezer and getting the finish stripped off is just him goofing around. Probably his way of trolling all of the internet bedroom playing haters. I agree. I can't call it up at work, but there are some videos of him on Youtube essentially trolling his fans before a show, as well as a hilarious satirical video called "How A Song Is Made", both in which he makes fun of himself quite a bit. He clearly has a good sense of humor and doesn't take himself totally seriously. I really think he does a lot of these things to {censored} with people. And I'm certainly laughing. I'm sure he does have some douchebag tendencies, but meh, either way, it doesn't affect the music.
  2. OT: I went to Ray Hennig's store when I was in Austin. It was full of crappy beginner guitars. On the other hand, Austin Vintage Guitars, in the same plaza, was the best guitar store I was ever in. Austin Vintage Guitars is my favorite guitar store ever.
  3. I'm looking at studying abroad there next summer. I've always wanted to visit the UK.
  4. Because they remind him of a distant time, and cause him to reflect on it. This reflection is about a time when he had another guitar with reflectors on it, which reflected the stage lights in a cool way, bro.
  5. FS: Blackstar HT-Dual Brand new in box. Never even been taken out of the plastic. Includes power supply. As horrible as it is, I received as a gift, but I am desperately in need of extra money for bills and this is one of the only items of value I own that isn't a necessity. $180 shipped and Paypal'd.
  6. FS: Tokai NLP-40 - $375 shipped This is a MIK copy of a PRS Custom 24. It is in mint condition. It's a great guitar and there's nothing wrong with it, but I may have a chance to get another guitar I've been wanting for a while, so I'd like to sell this one. I will also include a hardshell case. -Solid mahogany body -Spalted maple top (red) -Mahogany set-neck -Rosewood fingerboard (24 frets) -12" neck radius -1 5/8" bone nut -24 3/4" scale -Wraparound intonated bridge Dillion also now makes the same guitar - http://www.jsdguitarshack.com/dillion_guitars/dillion_dnlp40.html - The only difference is that mine appears to be spalted maple, and their version is quilted maple. The headstock is also painted black on the Tokai version (this one). I'm not sure of the background story, but I believe that Tokai and Dillion's MIK stuff is from the same factory, and Dillion is now licensed to make these models. They sell for $615 USD new, but I'll sell mine for $375 shipped and paypal'd. FS: Weber Headphone Tap And Dummy Load - 50 Watts - $40 shipped More information is available here: https://taweber.powweb.com/weber/hpa50.htm This device allows you to plug a tube amplifier (up to 50 watts) into it and monitor the signal through headphones, and/or functions as a dummy load for the amp for silent operation (which is what I was planning on using it for; recording the amp's line out into my DAW with impulses -- with the Weber in dummy load mode so that the head could be turned on without being connected to a cabinet). However, before I even had a chance to use it, I ended up selling my amp, so this is essentially brand new and has never even been plugged into. It was built less than a month ago. Please note that if the switch is not set in dummy load mode (ie: the switch is flipped upwards), you MUST connect a cabinet to the "to speaker" jack on the Weber, or you risk damaging your amp. Here's your chance to get one of these in perfect condition for cheap, and without having to wait for Weber Speakers to build one for you.

  8. They're delicious. And I live in Texas and have never heard anyone pronounce it wrong unless for comedic effect.

  10. Originally posted by takedeepbreaths I'm all for that, but it would be better if it's separated into amps/cabs, guitars, etc. like TGP. This sounds like a pretty good idea too, since I know a lot of people like to browse spam threads just because they may find a deal too good to pass up and may not want to go through extra threads about gear not even in the same category as what they're interested in.
  11. Originally posted by LordOVchaoS I like Jerry's Idea of a SPAM fourm. We have one over at sevenstring .org and it's great. It even has somewhat of a feedback system called iTrader. Would anybody be opposed to having an official FS, WTB, WTT forum? This is what I'm talking about. That sounds like a great idea. Maybe splitting it up into 3 boards (FS, WTB, WTT) wouldn't be neccessary as long as people keep the tags in their thread titles. The feedback system would ensure that people know who they're buying from, and I'm pretty sure word about certain forumites would get around quickly if they're not reasonable to deal with.

I think having to check 2 boards would be a lot more convenient than having to sift through huge threads. Like I said earlier, at least if you were searching for a specific thing, you could find a thread about it instead of having to go through multiple pages of a huge thread to find your search string. Phil, I think a lot more business would get done without stickies because the majority of people interested in making deals here don't even bother with the hassle of looking through them.

I'd actually prefer having a spam forum instead of scattering it in this board. The only drawback I can see is that people from all the forums would make deals through the single spam board and I know that there's a lot of specific people that have good reputations for their transactions that frequent the Amps board and people might not be comfortable buying from sellers from other forums that they don't know much about. However, I do agree that the mods are going a little crazy over all kinds of stuff that have never caused any problems in the time I've browsed here.
