Members AndyZ
I'd been looking for one of these for quite a while. Got a real fair deal on it. It's a 1995 Les Paul Special in hard to find TV Yellow to Black burst. I wasn't even looking for this color, it just popped up locally here. I know it's not a real 50's, but damn it plays so good. The finish is almost flawless except fora couple of small rub marks on the back that are hard to spot. Even the P-100's on it are so surprisingly tough sounding, I'm even debating putting the P-90's in I was planning to do. I'll have to play it a bit and see if the magic wears or not. Just thought I'd share for you other LP Special fans...
Members RoboCop00
Are the pickguards always like that?
Members AndyZ
Ya know... I don't know??? There was a completed auction on eBay about a month ago that was identical to this one and had the same guard. That guitar sold for $160 more than I paid for this one in the same condition. There was a another pickguard in the case that looks like a typical LP Std guard. The guy I got it from was the 2nd owner and said he bought it like that. Members AndyZ
Hmmm... How so Supercow? Maybe it was the flash, camera angle I took it, or does something seem misshapen? Here's a completed ebay auction of an identical one to this... looks the same... auction number 7402672225
Members riffpowers
Just thought I'd add mine, I just got this on thursday.PLayed it at rehearsal last night and its awesome!!Very gritty with LOADS of bite, aggressive like a really good tele but with the phatness and huge bottom end of a les paul.I love it.Sounds awesome, almost plays itslef and the tones I can get by using rolling of/adding in tone on the guitar are amazing.I know P100's aren't highly regarded on here, but I love em.A real players guitar!!Sounds awesome through a matamp. Members NoirAbattoir
How much do those run used? I played an LP junior the other day and I loved the P90 tones.
Members AndyZ
I've seen these pre-faded series LP Specials run anywhere from $550 to almost $800. Average price in the $650-700 range. I got this one for $620, and it's in xlnt condition. A real player!

Members u6crash
I think I might like the look of a Les Paul Special with a flat top more than the carved tops of the Standards, etc. Haven't found any that feel quite right to me, but I'd love to build a clone someday. Members Brian Krashpad
I had this Jr. Special for a couple years, bought from MuFriend for $499 new when they closed the model out. I never warmed to the P-100's and never got around to modding it to P-90's. I sold it to an ex-bandmate (guy playing the cheapo red Ibby above) who'd always expressed a liking for it, for basically what I bought it for (but I threw in a generic HSC I bought for it), when I needed to raise cash for a great deal on a used LP Classic. Members curseoftruth
From that picture, it looks more like a silverburst than a vintage burst.

No doubt one of the singlecuts with bolt-on neck? Because the doublecut setneck LP Specials that Epi made during the late 90's actually have a pretty fair rep from what I've read.
