Members LaXu
What's so special about the strat (the one with the red pearloid pickguard) though? Doesn't look like it has any unusual pickup choices.
Members Suspicious Mail
Yeah, 300 is a bit steep for a body wood I've never heard of. But I'll definitely try that tele ASAP... and if I like it I may snag it. I've already got an HH T- style with a mini at the neck, but that thing looks too cool. Members Cooley
exactly what I'm thinkin...I could probably rig up an affinity tele for around 240 bucks with the specs of that ssh tele.
Members Daft Punk
I think they're monitoring these HCEG Forums for product ideas....then come back with stuff like this Definetly appealing, but nono's for the body wood. And the price is steep, too. My verdict: Two thumbs down.

Interestingly, Cedar is a very respected wood for classical (and sometimes acoustic) guitar tops and necks.. - I don't know, however, how it would sound as a solid body wood.. Members Cooley
I'll certainly have to keep an eye on the nearby Sam Ash to see when they get these little guys in:thu: But I have never played a cedar guitar...ever.

Members Highway_61
Crazily, both Giardinelli and Musician.com are listing a few of the new Vintage Modified, even though MF--which, as we all know--is the same company, does not. As a sidenote, is there a chance that the this new product will stimulate a Butterscotch Affinity Tele blowout at some point?

It's not cedar, though... it's "Spanish Cedar." Somebody posted up a factsheet on the species last night, it's some kind of tropical tree that got its name because it kind of looks like cedar. The word "Spanish" in this case is evidently another way of saying "faux." I mean hell, it could sound like gold for all I know... but I've still never heard of it. Members JimboJ
It amazes me how people are criticizing these because they are made of a type of wood no one has heard of. Just because a wood doesn't grow in the US and is not used in guitars made in this country doesn't mean its crap. I'm sure they did some research, created prototypes, to make sure it sounds good tonewise. I doubt they would just select some random wood that they could get a good deal on. Members Devinstation
^^^^ I don't think anyone is criticizing it yet, but yes a guitar made of a wood none of us has heard of is a reason for concern. And you would be suprised what companies would do to make a buck. I'm sure Squier has used plenty of Cheap material in their production line before .... Members GarysBlues
Wow 3bills? You can buy a nice Tele for that! Looks OK buy Duncan Designed? So-so TM's, I don't know. Better off with G+L tribute or a few more bucks and a Agile TC-1000! Real Seymour Duncan pups, Grover 18:1s, Wilkenson WT3 Bridge[probly the BEST Tele bridge made], 2-piece ASH body center seamed. M-J frets, ships with TWO pick-guards Multi-ply Black and White pearloid?

Well, guitarists, for all their pitiful claims to be "rock and roll" are in my experience all too often hideously conservative about anything new. These prices look good for the UK, though no doubt they'll end up double that here as always..... I love Squier basses, but I'd reckon it's a fairly safe bet they'll not do any of this series left handed, so.
Members streetknight
I wanna play one. Been looking for a Tele. I've got a decent deal in the works on a Tradition Jerry Reid Sig Pro with the single/stacked/tapped HB I liked it a lot. The store owes me a few dollars and it's been there a while. I can take it for about 375 out of pocket. The only thing I don't like is the fretboard is a little flat. The radius on this new squier looks a little more appealing, but for 75 bucks more I think the Tradition would be a better buy
Members Ryan Trevisol
When they're $63 on over stock next christmas, I'll get the one with the minihumbucker and put a Mighty Mite strat neck on it. That would be vintage modified.
