Members -todgemistro-
Les Paul with coil tappable pickups. I find that much more versatile than a SSS strat Either that or a HH strat with coil tappable humbuckers, because they're more comfy to sit down and play. Cant beat the feel of a good Les Paul hanging from your shoulder though.
Members mnewb1
have a 57 reissue gold top LP from 1997 and absolutely love it.... but I am jonesing for a Strat for a diversity of tone and playing style
Members Schtang
I would have to say a Strat for versatility. Strats tend to cut it live way better than Gibsons (apart from P90 les pauls or SGs). That being said it would be hard not to have a Les Paul. Members leopardstar
as much as i love my strat style guitars, i still would have to say LP, i like that deep mournful tone. or better yet my sg!

Les Pauls are beautiful but you could only feel your shoulder for about 10min. I found the LP to be one heavy bitch. IMOMMmmmmmm coil tapping.........:poke:

Members Welladjusted
Strat, but only just. I plan on modding my Godin to be a single coil machine (lace silvers, or perhaps the new purple/silver/emerald set) once I get my Ibanez back into playing shape
Members Brewski
Let's see - an LP has humbuckers that you can coil tap to get a good single coil tone. the Strat has three pickups - but cannot ever sound metal. no contest - LP or dual hum guitar.
