Members FUBTAG
Just wondering if there were dog years in terms of quality.. not the sporadic kind of bad... but years that MIJ didn't mean quality.

Members IBDBB
I had a mij Squier when I was younger. Looking back it was a great guitar, I didn't like it because it was a Squier though, so i sold it. Wish i still had it today
Members jtr654
In the 80's early 90's they were alway more consistant and better then the MIA. That's the Fender brand only I really don't know that much about Squire.
Members ashtray
I've always liked the MIJ Fenders. From most other makers, there was consistent quality from the late 70's onwards.
Members zenbu
they made a whole range of guitars, some far better than others. Their first series, the JVs, were outstanding and fetch quite a bit nowadays, by the mid 80s they were making many models, some still don`t sell very well today, others are highly collectable so model number is as important or more so than what year a Japanese Fender was made...I have some early 90s custom editions that are outstanding but get very little recognition, evidently everybody wants the JVs, do some reading at this site...http://www.21frets.com/
Members Saturn
I had a MIJ strat I bought new in '85. Was a real nice guitar. In '86 or '87 I got a MIA Strat that was the most perfect Strat I ever played my MIJ was was almost right on par with the MIA.
Members dcindc
The necks. They're like a willing enthusiastic hot chick. The pups are nice too. Not the best, but nice.
Members epi56ebony
when new Fender began w/Bill Schultz + company in 1985. they relied heavily on japanese fender to help them get through the early days
Members ChEifR0bz
I own a MIJ 57' reissue strat. It is a beast, they do high quality for the price. Its about 750 bucks but I got mine 585 off ebay. Well worth the price, but I would get the 72 reissue just because it looks cooler and you can go Yngwie Style for the price.
