Members baseballplyr14
Recently the new Standard Strats and Teles from Fender include the transition logo and a different pickguard. They jacked up the price 50 bucks for em but they do look better I think. Well worth the extra money. Wat are your thoughts on the changes ? Members zbasstringer
I think the changes made them better, but my Highway one strat plays better and IMO sounds better. But, I would like a glossy finish. Then again, nitro paint was a big selling point for me, and the 6 hole bridge. Also, the highway one has jumbo frets, which are amazing. Members Doctor Morbius
I think there is going to be some confusion. I know you are talking about the MIM Standards but others may not be aware of the changes and assume you mean American Standards, even though they changed in '08. Members Carbohydrates
Oh, I didn't know they updated the MIMs, that's cool.
Members Burningleaves
I like them. The price is nice and most stores have plenty in stock so it is easy to cherry-pick a nice one.
Members fenderplayer150
I like what they did to them too. The logos look a lot better now that they dont have the Made in Mexico on them and the serial #. but they still left stratocaster and telecaster in that typewriter font. That should be next to go
Members Hoople Head
Wait... so changing the font/logo and pickguard is worth $50???
Members roygbiv
Wait... so changing the font/logo and pickguard is worth $50??? +1. WTF? there's gotta be other upgrades, right?
Members blingdogg
^ Yeah, I don't see what the real improvment is. What are the specific upgrades to make them better, and worth the new cost?
Members niceguy
The neck is tinted now.
Members JC777
They look better. I can't tell much past that. IMO not worth $50 more.

To me the new pickguard really sets them off and I love the tinted neck but I do agree, not really worth $50, but u know they will sell like hot cakes anyways. I would rather pay $500 dollars and get the Blackout Tele, but Im a sucker for black.
Members TheBlueStrat
Does anybody know if these are already out at stores and in for the christmas season, or are they only available in 2009 starting january?
Members Carbohydrates
Neck tint alone is worth good money to me. I really don't like these anemic, sterile-looking white maple necks on non-tinted Fenders.

Members PunkRudeBoy
For those interested. I like the tint, hate the transition logo.
Members Dewysoss
nevermind, I was looking at Am. Standards
Members Eminence_Front
I like the new style. I also like the headstock on my Am. Deluxe with the Chrome Fender logo... The one thing that kept me away from a $550 brand new Wine Red Hwy-1 Strat a couple years back was the starched white neck. I like the yellowed vintage looking neck.
