Phil O'Keefe
I'm sitting on the patio doing my email and forum stuff, and just felt a moderate quake - my initial guess is a 5+, reasonably close. I have been wrong before, but I'm usually reasonably accurate. Hope everyone in SOCA is OK.

It was my first major quake on the second floor of this 60 year old wood frame aparment over a garage and it was a very strong lateral shaking. Phil O'Keefe
Initial reports - 5.8, epicenter 2 miles south of Chino Hills (about 15 miles from here), at a depth of 7.7 miles. All humility aside - damn I'm good!

Phil O'Keefe
Phil, I told you once, I told you a thousand times... turn down the subwoofer. But... but... I don't HAVE a sub! And I wasn't even bumping the ADAM S3A's... I have to go check on the studio, but I didn't hear anything break in the house, so I'm probably OK. Phil O'Keefe
Glad to hear it Geoff. I just talked to The Weasel , and he's fine as well. I checked on the studio, and everything's good out there. My daughters live in Chino, and they're also fine, and report no significant damage. Members Samilyn
I grew up in SoCal and won't ever forget my last biggish quake in the early '70s. We lived in Sylmar then, the epicenter. No fun. Glad to hear everyone reporting that they and their friends/loved ones are okay. I too hope that everyone out there is okay and suffered no significant damage. I was 9 when the Sylmar quake hit, and I remember it like it was yesterday, even though I was about 60 miles away from there at the time. It definitely woke me up! I'm glad to hear that everyone's OK and that there was no major damage reported - at least not yet.

Members Jon Gnash
Venice is still here. I think I live in the only tsunami zone in the continental United States and I always forget to prepare myself for a tidal wave after a quake.

Members gearmike
But... but... I don't HAVE a sub! And I wasn't even bumping the ADAM S3A's... I knew those hot rodded "Bigs" made some serious bottom end... Seriously though, it felt huge out here in Valencia... Big, big initial hit, then serious rolling for about a minute and half... Whoo-Hoo!
Members Dean Roddey
I guess an earthquake is kind of like a tornado. It would be a trip to experience, but you wouldn't want to live there.

Big, big initial hit, then serious rolling for about a minute and half... Whoo-Hoo! Glad to hear you're OK Mike. As far as the hot rodded, soffitted JBL's, there's a reason why I don't do rap. This close to the San Andreas fault, I don't want to be responsible for triggering "the big one" with a 808 kick sample.
