California Earthquake!

I'm sitting on the patio doing my email and forum stuff, and just felt a moderate quake - my initial guess is a 5+, reasonably close.

I have been wrong before, but I'm usually reasonably accurate.
;)

Hope everyone in SOCA is OK.

How did Riverside do, Phil?

My place in Long Beach shook like the proverbial mofo.

It was my first major quake on the second floor of this 60 year old wood frame aparment over a garage and it was a very strong lateral shaking.

Phil, I told you once, I told you a thousand times...
turn down the subwoofer.

But... but... I don't HAVE a sub! :D

And I wasn't even bumping the ADAM S3A's... ;)

I have to go check on the studio, but I didn't hear anything break in the house, so I'm probably OK.

I grew up in SoCal and won't ever forget my last biggish quake in the early '70s. We lived in Sylmar then, the epicenter. No fun.

Glad to hear everyone reporting that they and their friends/loved ones are okay.

I too hope that everyone out there is okay and suffered no significant damage.

I was 9 when the Sylmar quake hit, and I remember it like it was yesterday, even though I was about 60 miles away from there at the time. It definitely woke me up!

Yeah, us, too, especially when our chimney fell over on top of my step-dad's fire department car, which he was not supposed to have driven home. LOL

I knew those hot rodded "Bigs" made some serious bottom end...

Seriously though, it felt huge out here in Valencia...

Big, big initial hit, then serious rolling for about a minute and half...

Whoo-Hoo!

Glad to hear you're OK Mike. As far as the hot rodded, soffitted JBL's, there's a reason why I don't do rap. This close to the San Andreas fault, I don't want to be responsible for triggering "the big one" with a 808 kick sample. ;)
