Members Dr. Scottie C
So today through July 6th.....Guitar Center is offering these H-H configuration Squier strats in 3 colors (Blue Sparkle, Red Sparkle, Silver Sparkle) for $89.99 with Free Shipping.A good friend of mine just got back with one he grabbed at the Ft. Wayne Guitar Center....and it is a nice guitar. Not just "good for the money"..... but I would probably gig with this thing as-is..... easily on par with $250-$300 guitars I have owned and played..... the fit and finish on the one in my hand is nice, and the stock pickups sound fine..... of course this is a great modding platform....but stock is very playable. Anyway.....I am on Guitar Center's website pulling the trigger on a Blue Sparkle right now..... I don't see anyway to go wrong with this for $89 bucks with free shipping.......just thought I would pass this along if you are looking for a nice H-H configuration that will NEVER be worth less than it's new price you paid. Members peskypesky
Yup. I have no business buying yet another Strat, and have 2 and a half Bullets already.....but the HH configuration, the sparkle, and the crazy-low price are combining to cause me stupid GAS. Members Dr. Scottie C
Yep Pesky, I already pulled the trigger on 1 Blue Sparkle one earlier......and am thinking about grabbing a silver or red sparkle too......On ebay, after shipping.... you would pay $130-$170 for Bullets and Affinity's that look like they have been drug behind a truck then vomited on...... at $89 bucks to your door, it's a no brainer. Note: I am in no way affiliated with GC..... and these being a loss leader, there is no money to be made anyway......the manager showed my buddy their cost on these as a store = $111.03 .....They are gambling that you won't just buy that 1 guitar then leave...... if you do, they lose. Members DeepEnd
Sounds like a great deal. I have more than that invested in my Fernandes right now and it was pretty much dirt cheap.

Members MDLMUSIC
Great deal! Kinda makes me wish I had held off on purchasing the pink Squier Ministrat last month for $99. Naw, who am I kidding? I LOVE that guitar, especially with the addition of the Hello Kitty stickers.
Members MorganB
I hate Strats but Sparkle for 89.? I am going to GC to pick one up if they are out I will order on line! Now this is a Keeper.
Members humbuckerstrat
I'd rather have this SX for $59, http://www.rondomusic.com/rstwhitebstock.html but I don't need anymore guitars, no matter how cheap they are. I prefer to mod and upgrade what I already have. That is a sweet Squier, tho. I don't know how the necks on Bullets are, but SX necks are great, with jumbo frets. Members Dr. Scottie C
Your new travel guitar? Probably not. I picked up a Samick strat copy on my local CL for $15..... that will be the hotel beater.
Members epi56ebony
So anyone want to recommend the best replacement tuners for the Squier Bullet Strat? I'm hoping for something that will just fit right in with making the hole bigger. But if that's not possible would still love to hear what people recommend. Members Floyd Rosenbomb
That will increase the cost of that guitar by 40%. Why do that? The tuners are probably fine.
Members Dr. Scottie C
My $89 blue sparkle won't be here until Tuesday, but the $89 silver one I had in my hands the other day, the tuners seemed fine. They were stiff, and I ran it through its paces for 45 min and had no tuning issues. 90% of the time.....stock everything is just fine. Doing things like "pickup upgrades" seem neato.... but hardly any difference can be heard in most cases.
Members papaschtroumpf
Sorry about the newbeeish question here(you'll notice my previous post says "I don't need more than ONE guitar").After all I'm on this forum to learn. If I were to buy other guitars than my current Dot, I would want something that is different but also sounds like the " classic" reference. The PU setup is different than the classic strat right? (I think of th classic strat as 3 single coils). So I'm guessing this guitar sound different.Since my dot is already dual humbuckers, I think I'll skip this deal, no matter how gorgeous they look, and hold off for a more classic strat deal, something like http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guita...&CJPID=6325108 (but that's still 3 times the price of that bullet HH, and no sparkles, but I like the Daphne blue) Edit: I guess they make a 3 single coil version of the bullet: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Squier-Bullet-Strat-with-Tremolo-104494315-i1385540.gc
Members DeepEnd
Probably not. I picked up a Samick strat copy on my local CL for $15..... that will be the hotel beater. I thought Samick Strats were generally 12" radius. Isn't it too flat for you? Or did the low price make it tolerable?

Might require some simple reaming. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Guitar-Parts...34767551&rt=nc But before I changed tuners, I'd get this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Graph-Tech-S...item43caa95968 A Tusq XL nut is the single best upgrade you can make on a Bullet (or other Squier), IMO. In fact, I"m ordering two more right now. One for a Squier and one for an SX Hawk.
