If I were going that route, I would probably do some sort of cool quasi-steampunk thing or riff on H.R. Giger stuff and see what comes up. I know both have been done a fair bit, but I think there's room for coming up with something insanely cool nonetheless, especially with quasi-steampunk stuff.
