Interesting...[becuz the 1st thinlines came out in '69 ]...
I was wondering how that color will change with age? Will it pale out, or darken...? Paled out, with the maple fretboard would look pretty cool; darkened would get you into the 'butterscotch' zone...good either way.
Sounds like a win win. Of course I don’t think that far ahead. It just looks good today

gardo...I think you made a great change! Especially since you were not happy with the original body, but liked the neck. Also, you are now rid of the noticably large gap between the bridge plate and the pickguard on the original body...
Thanks. When I play it the color reminds me of a ‘64 Mercury Marauder. It has a late 60’s kind of vibe.

Nice! I haven't been able to find any of the GFS guitars around, but I had 2 Douglas', one solid tele, and one semi hollow. I decided to keep the semi, for the exact same reasons, it just sounds more open. and with a little wiring magic, does just about everything I could want. (Bill Lawrence 5 way switching.)
I had to look up that wiring to know what it is. It’s interesting, something to keep in mind the next time I get bored. Thanks

Everything the same except the body, everything.. How does it sound? My first impression was that it sounded cleaner, I think a better way to say it would be more open. So a thinline does sound different.

So here’s the plan. I have an Xaviere T type guitar that’s decent.
After some fret work and treating the wood I really like the neck. it just fits my hand and feels right. The pickups are okay, I enjoy them. The body is. a little on the thin side and I don’t especially like the rounded edges
I considered a different body but didn’t want something heavy so a thinline was the plan. Guitarfetish was having a sale so I ordered one in the same color vintage cream .The color is more toward yellow but no problem, it looks good.
Of course it’s never a simple swap something alway needs adjusting. The neck pocket needed a little touch here and there and the neck angle also need a little attention but it all worked out. So here it is . I think it’s purdy . It’s all GFS except for the Electrosocket and strings.
It still needs a setup before I play it
Hope you enjoy the pics

You will likely need to enlarge the opening on the pickgaurd for the cover to fit .

actually .10 is not correct...#10-32....a #10 screw is .190 in diameter...fine thread is 32 turns per inch, 24 turns per inch is coarse thread...sorry, too many years in the aerospace industry.
Sorry it’s was not intended to be .10
It was supposed to be ….confuse him .
I missed the space between -

32 threads per inch is the threading. Its the standard course thread for a #10 size screw.
I think you might confuse him .10-32 is fine thread. The coarse thread is 10-24.
Tricky words ,course is correct but sounds like coarse

well, the prime signal doesn't go to ground....everything else does
Yes but in the end there will be a ground somewhere to complete the circuit. Electricity flows between hot and ground so somewhere, somehow everything goes to ground .
I was just being an ass -

It all goes to ground doesn't it?
Everything goes to ground eventually . It’s what happens along the way and in what order

Cool. I actually used to own a tele that had the Fender vintage noiseless as well. The neck pup was nice, but apparently the bridge pup doesn't have the same bite as a traditional tele bridge pickup. iirc, I liked the middle position a lot too.
Yes, the middle is nice , too bad about the bridge. I tried swapping in a standard single coil bridge but it did not pair well with the neck.

My favorite is a Telecaster neck pickup, which is why I will probably never own an Esquire. I’m not really a jazzer but I like that tone . I have Fender vintage noiseless in one of my Teles. The neck is very nice sounding, unfortunately the bridge is lame but I keep them just for that neck PU

Ok. I have a GT2 and maybe it records well but I never got more than a couple sounds I liked.
Yeah, it’s something to try it out , find useable sound or two. For what I was doing only one sound was needed and it was close enough.

Oh, hi there. Thanks for asking. Professional crastination sorry. Got interleaved with several Amazoning deals. Cheap speakers that actually sound good etc... Bought an itty bitty Behringer mixer/food processor with 3 actual band EQ. I stuck that between a DVD player and the stereo amp. The mids work wonders to alleviate driver compression and I even got classical stuff sounding good in the 80 to 100 db range. Pop music is already configured to play loud so no issues with drum practice. Still could use a graphic (using a geographic equalizer now) but I gotta say, if you need a good preamp, try a recording mixer. 😵 🤣
Good idea. I have a small mixer somewhere that I should try

Was the operation successful ?

Sometimes the more effort one puts into covering up a mistake, the more obvious the mistake becomes . It will never be right until the neck is redone.
I vote for steaming the neck off .If you do chose another option to raise the saddles , will there be enough adjustment to raise the bridge pickup ?

Current inflation is a result of market shortages [like new cars], much of which is due to the pandemic. Demand is the same, supply is short, prices go up, inflation. Housing is a similar process, but almost totally domestic cost fed, and there is ALWAYS a shortage of housing in America*. After 2008, when the housing market went into a tailspin, after a decade of frenzied buying, prices of houses barely dipped, and by 2012, they were moving upward again. Don't blame the Feds ability to print money for this situation.
*that said, the cost of housing where people don't really want to live is pretty much stagnant. You can buy a 4bdrm house in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Indiana, Michigan, Kansas, etc. for under 200k.
You can't buy a 1 bdrm condo in California for that.
Everyone is welcome to their own opinions
