  1. Nashville wiring . A master tone control, the middle pickup on the unused pot for volume and the neck and bridge on a 3 way switch telecaster style The middle pickup is not on the switch so it can be blended in at any position . I know you want to avoid a blender but it really is simple and versatile

  2. D’Addario EXL 110 is my standard string for most guitars MF recently had a 12 pak for the stupid deal of the day Then I there’s 11’s on a thinline with a a neck mini ( that was my church guitar. D’Addario 10 -52 on a Riviera with minis and Thomastik Infeld. Flat wound 12’s on a jazz box
For acoustic I like Elixer 12 except on my D-18 which has Martin Retro 13

What type of music depends on my mood but you can be sure there will be no metal of any sort .

Yes, I've heard that theory but there is no scientific eveidence for it being so. And, if you think about it, in all the Fender strat and tele guitars - and in all the many similar types of guitar - the pickups are sitting on a sheet of plastic.

Not really. Telecaster uses a steel bridge plate and some have the neck pickup mounted to the body rather than the pickgaurd

  4. What does “best” even mean ?

The”best” amp I ever played is a lowly Fender Princeton Chorus solid state. Why ?

Because it fits perfectly inside the cabinet 58E688FF-1227-4A96-A8DE-C645CF0425D5.thumb.jpeg.95aee57ac9458220dda4c6f4e5172ab8.jpeg981486DC-2CB7-4C3A-A911-C4EC0CEA97FB.thumb.jpeg.5f4d12ac29c6a51208bf20acc2c1d58e.jpeg

It does glorious cleans with the acoustic chamber behind it . EQed 10 right across with a touch of reverb. The stereo chorus is really a bonus .

It is attached to the slide for safety

Other than cleaning the pots it’s been trouble free.
It’s Made in America  and it only cost around $200 . Not bad, I found my sound with no pedals needed So yes, it’s the best for what I do

The way forward is to 'get the band back together'. All the folks who understandably bailed out when we were being bounced through multiple formats...the ones who felt this place was too conservatively moderated, the ones who disliked the ownership...and with those numbers, with that revitalized knowledge base, we could be vital again.

    Will it happen? :idk:

I always enjoyed garage sale finds and rattle can make overs Hey badpenguin, maybe you might share some more of your guitar rehab projects. Please

I haven’t done too many projects worth posting but like to see them

your supposition is incorrect. I am an unpaid volunteer, as are the rest of the mods here...AFAIK.

Since we have no contact with the owners, who would be 'paying us'?

And yes, we are of the opinion it is currently Sweetwater.  But nothing official was ever given to us. One day, Anderton, Dendy, Phil and the other guys you didn't see, like Loeffler....all logged off. No guidance, no 'here's the key to the admin codes', no in case of emergency contact:www.xxx-X.fu, nope...'hasta la vista, good luck....'

    well not exactly...but pretty much.

But the ship is still afloat, we just can't get to the wheel house to steer it.

All we can do is repel boarders and keep the peace.

    Thankfully it is sllloooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww....

    Thanks for having on

The black looks a lot better. The local guy is asking $700 for his ,it looks like a vo tech wood working project. I would not be ashamed to play that black one
