I was strongly considering one of those Vintage thinlines... how you like it?

It’s a pretty one and arrived well set up needing only tuning; The fret worrk was great. it seems like there was some sort of coating or something  in the jack, after a shot of contact claner it sounded much better. The neck had an unfinished feel that some people pefer. I don't so I treated it with Orange Glo . This not only enhanced the grain but gives that smooth feel i like. The neck feels pretty good now and the nut is wider than some of the Squiers but I would prefer a little more thickness .  The beauty of playing is with both pickups. The bridge is not as  twangy as others but blends well with the mini.  It does  not have full size pots but I wouldn't notice if I didn't look.  I don't completely  understand the wiring. The neck seems to have the in wires gronded and the grounds on the switch. I do know that hum has never been a problem.  It is not a Custom Shop and does not have the same quality feel of one , it's more like some of the  Fenders that ae  also made in  Indonesia. I don't think it's a printed paper veneer because the grain pattern does change when I turn it in the light.  I wanted a thinline with a neck mini and there are not many out there. Overall I like it quite a bit especially for the money

Vintage Brand thinline with e fresh set of D’’Addario 11’s . Straight  into a solid state Princeton Chorus using the clean channel. EQed on 10 straight across to give a slight drive ,the reverb is at about 2 . The volume is plenty loud on 1. I needed to wrap the low E to the top of the peg to lessen the break angle. I know they make staggered tuners but prefer the vintage slotted style.

Have you used it at the gig?

it worked perfety.  The master volume dosen't effect the line out . This allowed me to cut back the master and adjust to the PA sound then bring up the master again so to a level i could hear as we played. The amp is a fun toy at home too .Not exactly the same as my "real amp" though. But maybe i need more time to dial it in

I think it very much depends on where you live. If I lived in the Arizona desert I'd probably use a hygrometer but here in the UK the relative humidity is usually 70%+ which seems to suit guitars well.

It must be a fairly mild climate go you. The house here gets very dry over the winter when the heat is on. We use a heat pump which is a dry heat. It may go to 30 percent so I add humidity

As I said "their high-end mixers, which are actually quite good", right?

They may have the best  'chip' in the world, but put it in a cheap housing with crap connectors, ghastly switches*, and so on...

*those 3 points are the ones I've been asked, over several years, if it is worth fixing, I ask what they could replace it for... and basically, I tell them just get a new one, or really a better one, or do it themselves..

Yes they are cheap plastic housings..

Happy free used solid state Canadian/Chinese stereo amplifier day!:thu:

Traynor has a history of copying Fender circuit designs going way back to the 60s, so I would guess they dissected the Fender Princeton Chorus amp to create that one. My first actual bass amp was a Traynor, but a real Canadian tube amp, with a Yorkville speaker.

For years, my motto was 'Friends don't let friends use Behringer.' Then they slapped the 'B' word on their high-end mixers, which are actually quite good, and a number of venues I have played around SoCal use them. I have since amended the motto to 'Friends don't let friends use cheap Behringer pedals or Bugera* amps.'😉

*several years ago, an acquaintance brought me a 5W Bugera with a mystery problem. The warranty had expired a few months before. After examining the amp, I was appalled at the terrible workmanship: wires hot melted to the chassis, untrimmed solder leads, exposed/uninsulated AC wires...I eventually came to the conclusion that the Output Transformer had an internal short. How? I don't know...but an OEM OT was not available, and I was unable to match an equivalent.

JHS pedals did a video saying that many boutique pedal builders actually get their chips from Beheringer

  7. I talked to an old friend the other day who has had some struggles in life. He told me he’s just been playing acoustic these days . I t seems his amp died and he’s been unable to replace it.  I’m planning a trip up his way in a few weeks to pass this amp along to him so he can get his Strat out again.

  8. I got the Mustang LT 50 today and it should be just what I need. There are plenty of sound options, the one I’m currently checking out is an acoustic simulator. It’s a good starting point while I create something of my own. Here is something  I really like , while the line out is affected by the gain and volume adjustments it is not affected by the master volume. This allows me to balance the amp speaker and the central monitor to heat what’s really going out. To me this is very useful and of the best features . Thanks for all of the discussions .

By the way there are some great sounds for home use like Chaicago Blue and Rock-a-Billy . Oh yeah

I never used a Beheringer anything.

I use Mogami cable when I plug in. George L's on my pedal board.

The cable is Fender. Plugged straight into the amp it sounds as good as my Mogami

Either way I had no use for the gig bag , only hard casas

    Yep

Fender once gave me some solid state amp free for buying a American Strat.

I sold the amp. Stiill have the Strat.

    Free is good

All they gave me was a free gig bag when I bought a Mexican Strat

Traded the gig bag for a couple Beheringer pedals and some cables

I use one of the cables every day. The pedals are on the shelf

I hope you are happy with the LT.

Suggesting that you buy a two thousand dollar+ amp for a one-off gig...

Not everyone wants nor has the money to buy 'champagne' gear...this is a perfect example. Some of us are here to try to help and present viable options, some just post to show off...

I like to see all of the options. Quilter would be fantastic but really is more than I need At least we’re talking about something.
These days any traffic is good traffic.

I have a Blackface Princeton RI. It kind of is what it is.

Getting kind of pricey they are.

great amps , but I wasn’t referring to a real Princeton. I like the solid state Princeton Chorus amps

  13. 41 minutes ago, Mikeo said:

The Princeton has a phone jack out.

Get an a/b/y box and run both amps at the same time.

Mess with the sound guys head. Send him right to a shrink, on a fat military section 8.

I always wanted a second Princeton. They can be run as a master/slave with the effects loop I think

Probably a STEREO amp with STEREO chorus!!! Probably has a glorious clean tone.

It actually is a stereo amp with good cleans at low volume . The trick seems to be to get the amp up off the floor to let the sound fill the area

those are the Boss junk...I'm talking about Rolnd junk...😉

Which was why I suggested the Cubes, inexpensive, decent [not great] sounding, but the line out will sound better if the sound guy at least knows how to EQ:facepalm:

in my [ancient warped] mind, it checked all the boxes Gardo was after...sure, I could name plenty of other, far more expensive amps, but why?

Agreed, l don’t need an expensive amp. This is a situation where good enough really is good enough- No one hears the amp except me , the sound goes through a PA. I know my range in the mix and am not a featured soloist. I went with a used LT 50 for under $200. There are so many amp models and effects that the right sound has to be in there somewhere. . It’s being shipped and should be here soon.
